“a certificate of excellence”

I have a couple friends who own a business with no employees. Apparently, they got a PPP loan for about a million by just writing in they had over 100 employees. They got the loan and used to to buy a bunch of investment properties. I just wonder, when the companies were applying for PPP, was there any kind of verification of payroll or couple people literally write in any number of employees?
Hi all, I work for a consultancy in the UK which is currently offering voluntary redundancy to those on the bench (those not on a project placement). I want to travel for the next few months for various reasons, and I have been planning to quit around now for the past few months. However, in this time, my company has started offering VR to those on the bench, and then unexpectedly, the project I was on ran out of funding so I have ended up on the bench as well. The question is: Is there as good way to request redundancy from HR, or would they view that as you wanting to leave and then not want to give it to you? Is it better to just hover in the background and hope it gets offered? The issue with this is I am working at a quite tight timescale now.…
Working from home?
Do any of you basically play video games all day and just do the bare minimum?
‘We know how valuable he is’
I've been at my company for close to a year now, I joined in a junior role and love the work. I came from a freelancing background and took quite a significant pay cut (25%+) for the security of a monthly income. I was asked if I wanted to end my probation half way through it as my performance was so strong. I said yeah sure, if I can negotiate my pay (I have more experience and knowledge than a junior having had 2 years industry experience on my own). I was told I can either accept end of probation based on my starting contract, or I could leave. I have since had a promotion. No raise in pay. This year I've had quite a bit of time away from work for personal reasons – during which time my manager has donated company money to causes that have helped me…
Canadian Longshore Strike
With ILWU on strike in Canada container and bulk ships sit at anchor. The Longshore union has supported my union before, now it's our turn. The employer is pushing the federal government to end the strike by designating them as critical infrastructure, denying their right to strike.
Horrible start to a new job
I've been hired as an 'IT-support' / 'Customer support' specialist or w.e. In the two months i've been working here, i haven't done a single thing pertaining to this job description. I haven't taken care of a single ticket, or answered a single call. In stead, i've written an app for reporting/documenting, because the reporting platform was slow asf. Oh, i also made the reporting platform faster once i got in to it to fix another problem in it. I haven't gotten an introduction to anything and this week i've worked for approximately 3 hours total, just because im waiting for my boss to have a meeting with me pertaining the migration of the internal domain controller. And yes, that's gonna be my next job apparently.
