Why do creative people need time to sit around and do nothing?

Encourage me to quit
I just need anyone to tell me it’s okay to quit because my mental health matters more than this bullshit. job is horrible and boss is a bitch. I just moved back with my parents so I’ll be okay financially. Someone just tell me it’s okay to quit please and thank you.
Antiwork includes socialist work too
Located in the US. I worked for a non profit that supports a small niche group of marginalized people. My former coworker sent me this with other pieces of information. I’ve since said I don’t want to know anything else she says about me. I haven’t engaged in any sort of conversation with this former boss since I was wrongfully terminated. She brought up my ADHD diagnosis as well as talked about her perception of health concerns that I had to my coworkers, and she broke confidentiality regularly— not just for employees but our clients, too. On top of being incredibly racist.
I saw a post that reminded me of this, but during the holiday season I was working a retail store, and my great uncle passed away. I was really close to him, and while his death wasn't a shock, since he had cancer, it really hit me hard. I let my manager know that I wouldn't be able to work on the day of his funeral, and she flat out told me that I had to find someone to cover my shift or I had to work, even though I would be four hours away by the time my shift started. I sent out shift swap requests up until the day before the funeral, and I flat out told my other manager that I wasn't going to be in tomorrow, because I was going to a funeral, and that the other manager knew, but expected me to find a cover…
I’ve spent the last week actually unwell, coming out of covid and just some other health stuff however not being at work for the last 7 days has had a significantly positive impact on me. I feel normal? My central nervous system feels calm and I just can’t describe how normal I feel. Like this is how I’m supposed to live my life. I’m sure if I was to continue to be off work I would become bored, but I haven’t attempted to really do anything with my time other than rest and relax, so I think in a few weeks I would probably start to pursue some projects, maybe do some walking exploring, cooking etc. I dunno man, I’m rethinking everything, I’ve always been anti-work but I now feel almost like I need to be an activist for changing the way the world lives their life and spends their…
I hate this store
Right, to start things off, I f*cking hate working here even if it is just a summer job before I go back to college again. My department manager does jackshit, they'll tell the associates to work something but she'll go else where, and usually it's to the break room to talk with the other managers and when I say talk I mean joke and play around. I suspect she wrote me up because it meant she had to work yesterday. You can see in the other post where is explicitly says that I was throwing up. Each day I'm getting more and more agitated with this store because first they took away our water and told us to use the water fountain which has a Bad water filter that has not been replaced as long as I've been here. Now I get written up for working an 1 to 8…
I’d like to see us all put that tool to use some day ️ in the form of a massive general strike!
My Wife quit her job, and I’m proud.
This is a long one, apologies! So my wife had been laid off with the company I work for now, which is unfortunate. She decided to do something different and took some simple classes to get her foot in the medical field. After she started working for an Assisted Living facility which worked well with my schedule. We have a kid that isn't old enough to be left alone. She starts work and is excited, new job, new field, she's selfless and enjoys helping people. Then she starts telling me concerning things. They weren't putting out the schedule for each week but maybe a day in advance. If she called out it was her responsibility to find coverage. They begun having mandatory meetings in the middle of the day…and she works nights. Her first week they were already calling her in on days off. This all throws a red flag…
As per the title. I don't want to discriminate but the Americans post humanitarian issues that don't represent any sort of working rights. Comparable to slave labour or maybe north Korea. It would be nice to see what first world countries have as work related issues.
