Manager stole from our tip pool. Is this even legal?

I reside in the state of Utah. Where I work during a shift it’ll be me and a manager and maybe one other coworker. We serve and bartend (including the manager) for the restaurant and we split cash tips and card tips equally. The other day my manager decided to pocket a cash tip and I physically saw him do it. He never split it and went home with it. If he forgot it he’d mention it by now. Isn’t that stealing from a tip pool? On top of that I heard it is illegal for managers to make tips or even take part in a tip pool. Is that true? He is considered our FOH manager. He does scheduling, serves, bartends, etc.

How far is it all going to go?

I sometimes wonder how far we're going to allow this dystopian nightmare to go. When exactly is the point going to arrive where we look at the state of absolute corruption and theft of living quality and simply say “It's time to make a stand.” Corporate greed has shown that it places no value on any of us. They will never stop driving profits at the cost of all the rest of us. And meanwhile, we work and slave away to make ends meet while our forefathers enjoyed wages and costs that allowed them a life we can now only dream of. This is not what America was meant to be. This is a shameful nation of prisoners who have been pounded into submission by greedy sociopaths. Time to make a stand.

tipping out

i recently got a job as a “busser” at this family owned restaurant and was told when I was hired that I would receive minimum wage and no tips. This was totally fine with me as the restaurant is not huge and I did not think that I really would be earning tips. However, I have worked three shifts now and I am a hostess, busser, food runner, and partly a dishwasher. The place is BYOB and I provide the glasses, menus, tables, ice buckets for wine etc etc. However, there is one employee who takes the orders (i emphasize that all he does is take the orders) and yet he gets all the tips. Is this unfair or am i overreacting? i would quit if i could, but unfortunately i’m really low on money and need the job right now. I’ve started looking at other places but Im just…

Job Searching & Ran Into This Red Flag, WTF

I have been job searching for about 2 months and it's serious tough out there right now for my industry. And then I ran into this gem today while reviewing job descriptions on that career social media site everyone knows (not sure if I can name it here). I know that it's a startup company, but to me this is a huge red flag that the hiring manager is a narcissist who is looking for a punching bag. Wtf is wrong with these people?

Promised bonus for previous work done taken away after putting in 4 week notice.

I work in a high stress mental health job working closely with the most severe cases. After working the job for nearly two years I decide to make a change and put in a 4 weeks notice. Two days before I turned in my notice it was announced that employees that worked from January 1st – present would receive a bonus for their hard work. I was excited that before I left I would be getting a nice bonus. When it came time to paying me the bonus last week everyone else got one except for me. I confronted my boss about it, and they said that I would have to talk to HR & that one other employee was in a similar situation and nothing ended up happening. Any suggestions? Do I consider hiring a lawyer?

The insane income gap generated by billionaires, and how to fix it.

TLDR: Every billion dollars of personal income creates about 42,000 individuals with an income of 0. An 29% flat tax would have created a zero deficit budget in 2021, less in 2022. Adhering to the tax tables would have generated income instead of deficit. I had asked AI to show the math on this, generated text is not allowed. So here is the math and source links, using the year 2021 instead. 1,000,000,000 divided by average household income ($70,784) so approximately 14 thousand households with zero income. multiply by an average family size of 3.3 (lets just call it 3)… 42,000 people making jack shit. (2021) 23.32T income, 6.8T expenditures including mandatory and discretionary. 29% flat tax would have created zero deficit with everything paid for. in 2022 GDP increased 2T and spending stayed the same, so a smaller flat tax would have covered it. Adhering to the tax brackets…
