>tldr company found a nice guy to replace me and do 2 jobs at once (lol good luck) after secretly looking for 1.5years for such a slave unicorn. my bro at work tells me today basically that he heard rumor…that someone else i sent some meme to, showed it to the bosses and thats why they were removing me. i absolutely dont remember what i have sent to who but you know what i realized? Even if i never sent anything “Bad” and they liked me, they still would have replaced me because we are cattle to them. they wouldnt have kept me when they found the cute guy…. so…im glad i did whatever. i hope it ruined their day. the coping and seething must have been unbelievable of keeping me around and they needed me. They were so passive aggressive all the time and they STILL WOULD HAVE BEEN,…

Working Malaise
Does anyone else just have a sense of malaise, a generalized “meh” about their jobs? I don’t actually hate my job nor my coworkers. I just….really don’t actually care about my job; I’m only here for the paycheck. I really kinda have no vested interest in my job or company because beyond a paycheck, I get nothing out of it. I’m not working for me, I’m working so other people can get wealthy and it just pisses me off…I can’t be the only one that feels this way…
So my boss missed the payroll deadline at the at the tail end of last month, resulting in us being paid two days late. Then, next pay period I’m paid with a paper check. I ask why this is and I am met with Oh I didn’t want you to worry if it wasn’t in your bank account in the morning, I was being helpful. Like, what? Okay. Now I follow up about upcoming pay period, because I wanted to know if I needed to cushion my checking account incase they want to pay with paper checks again or are late. Instead of being told that we are resuming direct deposit, I’m met with attitude about they have no control over when the banks will deposit money. I respond that that wasn’t my question, and I asked because I needed to know how to account for everything since there have…
So long story short, I had a mandatory meeting at work yesterday morning. I texted my boss 4 hours prior to the meeting that I was not going to be able to make it. (Im currently living at my dads place and he is selling it so it went into an expedited escrow leaving me only 10 days to find an apartment.) so I had 3 tours right around when the meeting was happening that I decided we’re very important as I don’t have alot of time. Anyway I miss the meeting and then show up for my shift a few hours later after going to the showings. Later that night my manager gives me a write up to sign. Was definitely expecting something of the sort, even though I have them 4 hours notice I wasn’t going to be able to make it. Then my boss tells me that…

So my boss recently called me in to have mostly his wife yell at me, both owners of the business, because I was talking badly about them to other employees and it got back to them. Fine. I am a good employee, recently promoted, clients are always complimenting me on my work performance, etc. Anyway, I'm more educated than my boss', working on a PhD in my own time (which his wife scoffed at during our meeting and neither of them have which, I mean, it's funny I was scoffed at given this is an education based field of employment) and that has never reflected on my pay scale or in consulting me with anything or with asking my advice on anything. At least, anything meaningful where I wasn't just being placated. For reference on this guy, just the other day he told me he just came up with an…
How does this meet cost of living?
I know it’s bad, but wow.
I just came across a job for a Corporate Wellness Specialist, they actually listed the pay (thank you) but they want to pay the person $37,000/year, and the person has to work 4:30 am – 6 pm. They require a bachelors degree and 2 professional certifications. It’s just unbelievable that companies are able to get away with this.
