Hey, there…just checkin’ in and lettin’ you all know what’s been up. So here it goes. 1) After 9 months a co-worker quit and I ended up (promoted) on the worst route that made 3 people quit, get fired or switch positions. So here I am on this route almost 3 months in. 2) I’m on probation and just keeping my head on a swivel until my vacation. Been job hunting lately and some haven’t even bothered and some declined through email (ah, a classic) 3) Been going in and out of sleep while driving (8 hrs turn into 15 or 16, which ever comes first) and coming back home exhausted and trying to get some rest even though it don’t feel like it. 4) Every route I came across delivering beverages and merchandising takes up more then just the time but the obstacles like scanning problems on there (the…
Bank industry influencers ?
I used to work in retail banking 5 years ago when I was going to college and the managers at that time had LinkedIn but weren’t active but recently all of a sudden I’m seeing a trend of them being very active on LinkedIn. Sharing pictures from their branch everyday, bragging how great the company is .. all those stupid thing. Does anyone knows that bank is paying to have these people as bank influencers??
Found my job posted on LinkedIn
So I work at a small clothing company – the owner is a straight up narcissist with histrionic personality disorder. I was brought in to do two jobs technically, however I came to realize that one part of the job needed way more attention than the other part. They were being scammed out of a lot of money and the person scamming them, was probably doing illegal shit. My boss and I worked long hours trying to fix it and get everything compliant. We then found out that there were more things that were noncompliant, we attempted to fix those as well. The whole time the owner would say “oh well I didn't know” or “no one told me!” she absolutely refuses to take accountability and people constantly make excuses for her. These guidelines are easily accessible and can be found with a simple Google search. Anyway I came down…
For context, I work for a shipping company offloading planes. Once a week for about two years or so, they forced us to help the people who sorted freight because they were short staffed and too cheap to hire more people. The thing is, the people who normally sorted freight make about $2/hr more than we do, and they didn’t adjust our pay for the time we were in there. I know the US’s labor laws are pretty shit, but is there any chance this kind of thing is illegal? It seems fishy at the very least to me.
The government is looking at maybe one day looking at maybe perhaps implementing UBI through bill s233. Obviously it's not perfect or there yet, but all the MP offices are getting messages from people against it. And if we don't have our voices heard, the bill will fall flat before it even gets properly examined. So ya, if you are Canadian and you want UBI, this is our first step towards it.
If everyone here was a boss…
odds are you’d be just as bad as the boss you hate. It’s horrible to say but history has proven that almost all bosses turn into the unfair, asshole boss. I know you think you’d be different. You’ll change the status quo. You’ll be reasonable to employees. You’ll do everything to be fair and help people out. But unfortunately, history has shown, the likely outcome is the power goes to your head and you become everything you hate.
If working on a specific project was causing you more stress, would you ask to be allocated on other projects on mental health grounds?
