Pay cut – advice please
I'm a wage employee in Ohio. I do make well above min wage, but they just cut my pay by $1 without notice. I just got a “promotion” too, but I didn't sign anything. It was all verbal and they didn't even mention pay at all. Isn't that illegal? I really like my job, so I'd like to avoid reporting them if possible.

Capitalism directly defined
When a company announced a mass layoff, the stock market rewards the company. Remember that. Never forget.
I work for a large well known company. Been there a 1 and 6 months. I have excelled as an employee, even up for a promotion. They actually reached out to me and asked me what it would take to leave competitor company and work for them and I said “WFH and higher pay.” They wrote me an offer with permanent work from home, included. It was a bumpy start as they were short staffed and did not typically hire external hires to this particular role. Training was sloppily put together. However over time, it became easier and I was overall happy. They began filling the department back up with people with jobs they advertised as remote! Today they announced back to office! But only those 45 mins or less from an office. They used a 3rd party vendor to figure it out. They did not account for traffic, just…
My work is tracking me….
I just found out that my work has been tracking me on cameras and also asking co-workers to track when I get to work and when I leave because apparently I was only hitting 7:58 hours of work a couple days come I started and not over 8….. like hey when I get more work done in 3 hours than any of my coworkers do in 8 I think 2 minutes in a day made up by a full hour throughout the week doesn’t really matter.
Quitting with no notice
I joined a new B2B SaaS company in January as an IC. I’m fully remote. I realized quickly (6 weeks in) that my manager is unbearable and honestly unqualified for her role. In addition to being a constant micromanager, she also doesn’t pay attention half the time during meetings, can’t formulate a consistent strategy for our department, and gaslights the fuck out of people (ex: Her: why did you do X that way? Me: Because you asked me to do it that way. Her: oh no I don’t think I did.) Apparently this isn’t anything new. Two people quit before I joined because of her (a coworker told me), and she was put on a performance improvement plan two months ago. I thought maybe things would get better but neither I nor her other direct reports have seen any improvement. Her boss knows as well. Unfortunately, it seems they are…
