I just found out that I am pregnant about a week ago, and as soon as I found out I set up and doc appointment, the earliest I could get was the 11th of next month. (I’m about 5 weeks) and I let my bosses know about my situation. Just a little context I am very subject to miscarriage and the first trimester is a vital stage in pregnancy. Anyways I told them that every now and then that I’m needing to sit down to avoid any stress to my uterus from standing for almost 10 hours straight. I also stack and pull pallets with product that between 15-50 pounds each basket and the pallets weigh about 750- 1000 pounds and lifting puts more stress on it. So my team lead tells me that he’s sending in an email about my situation and giving me accommodations for it, a couple…

Employer “playing god” with the A/C
But if background, I do most of the QC (quality control) for an AV and IT rental company. Now I’m not AV “expert” (as in I haven’t been doing this for 30 plus years like some) but I know my shit well enough. Anyway shortly after I got hired but this company we expanded. Bought some extra space and knocked down a wall and just took over more space in our warehouse. The new space has AC in it and it’s where I do most of my QC work. Now projectors give off a lot of heat and require a steady stream Of cool fresh air going into them so they don’t overheat and fry components. Ideally you’d not want these projectors running in temps above 85 degrees. Tell me why for the last month and a half the room was 85 fucking degrees while it’s 95 outsider with air…
Hi there, So I was unfortunately quite displeased with how a situation was handled this morning 6/29/23. Our NW patient in H2 had a diet change to 7 ETC and lvl 3 liquids which I discovered when I was doing my normal routine of checking the self select floors for Iddsi (modified texture diet) patients to ensure the items they have ordered are in stock or enter items for them that ARE in stock. I noticed the new diet for our NW friend, and I called the nurse to check in about the new diet. The Nurse informed me they would like finger food items for the patient and/or more dry items as the patient has a tendency to throw items at the nurses. T reached out to A to see what we should do and she reportedly told T she would “handle it” when she came in. So J…
I don’t know what’s worse
Dealing with HR, or working for HR. I am currently the front desk person for a large scale public institution in my area for HR. I work with some of the most incompetent and sociopathic people I have ever met, and yet also some of the most empathetic. The incompetent sociopaths hide in plain sight by putting a lot of work on the people who give a shit. I'm one of those people; I come from a pro-union background and I am personally a socialist. I knew before starting this job that I was in for anti-union, anti-employee vitriol, but not like this. Lean six sigma and other such programs have gone so far that HR, at least my HR, is a misshapen beast that can no longer handle even the most basic tasks efficiently. Popular writers on HR will tell you that HR is ideally not supposed to be…
Leaving job and no one cares
I just need to vent. I have been at my job for almost two years, and I take my job very seriously and my job is a major part of my life (I’m a preschool assistant). They wouldn’t give me a full time position after my upcoming college graduation and told me I could just stay on as part-time. And then literally didn’t care at all when I announced I was leaving in a month. It’s just so draining to put years into a job and think you’re important and they just automatically move on and don’t give it a second thought. I know I should’ve expected this but it just feels like such a disappointment.
Office went to 3 days a week in the office for everyone so fuck them, a few hundred applications later I’m offered £40k more and a big perk package to work remotely at a bigger company.
Hai Guyz, Ignoring the red flags So a couple months ago I was hired by a telecom company that contracted with other telecom companies. I was given an answer key to a test required by the client and told not to tell anyone. I was also told to lie about my certifications. This was the first red flag, but I ignored because I've been unemployed a month and needed a job. Employer lied to me Fast forward a month, I asked to travel to another state. However, they neglected to tell me that I'll only be working 20-30 hours a week. If I were in my home state, I could supplement my income other ways. They also tell me that they only reimburse 10 bucks a meal. This is problematic being in a high cost area where all of the restaurants serve entrees well above that. I get texted at…
