Have rewritten this multiple times, tried chatgpt to summarize it too, but it didn't help at all. This is what I finally came up with. Warning : all of this is coming straight out of my rear end, so it's a little jumbled here and there: ( I say the word intuition a lot here lol) So, I'm 24F, been technically unemployed since september 2021, when I graduated with an undergrad degree in math concentrated in stats and data science. I was in a master's program at a reputed university from 2021 to 2022, but it was too expensive, so I left. I'm kind of all over the place now, because I am a very intense, stubborn personality, but that's literally the only reason I'm even alive today. It's literally the only reason I have held back from suicidal thoughts time and time again. I think I may have borderline…

i hate working. here’s why.
to preface; i’m 17, i’ve had 3 jobs (all for less than 6 months) and i’ve only been fired once. okay here goes. so my first job i got right after my 16th birthday, it was a seasonal job at a Christmas store. I was there from august 2021-december 2021. i fucking HATED it there. the customers were so fucking entitled and rude bc it was in a rich tourist town, they would bring their kids ofc bc sAnTa (even tho no kid ever wanted to be there bc it was so loud and bright so they would just constantly scream) not to mention most of the shit in the store was made of glass so shit was always breaking. i only stayed there the whole season because of the money. i was working 8hr shifts 4-5 days a week on top of high school. in the middle of november…
If I throw a stone
If I throw a stone in grand canyon for every manager who thinks 9 women can give birth to one child in a month.. we would have a new Mount everest in Arizona.
This is a rant post. In another sub, a parent who is planning two 5 day long vacations asks the Reddit community how much to pay their babysitter while they are away. Parent states the past agreed upon price ($20) and then asks how much we (the reader) would “offer”. This is the HUMAN BEING you are placing the care of YOUR CHILD in. Not an eBay bid. I can’t understand why this parent would want someone who has such an important job to accept anything less than they already agreed to. Also- to boot- the majority of the comments are telling the parent to pay less than the past agreed on price! $100 a day! That’s less than 5 dollars an hour! The more generous comments say $1000 for 5 days, that’s 8 dollars an hour!!!! I am missing something? Taking care of children is SO undervalued in this…
Are Part-Timers Second-Class Employees?
It never ceases to amaze me how two jobs with similar job descriptions and similar educational and experience requirements can pay so drastically different – the only difference being the one job offering full time hours and the other part time. For example, in the field of digital marketing, there are many full time jobs advertised on indeed between $60-80k per year – that's $30-40 an hour. But take that same job and make it part-time hours, and the job is now only worth $20-25 an hour. It is near impossible to see any part time jobs in this field for over $30 an hour. So far as I see it, a part-timer is going to give just as much value as a full-time employee (I could argue even more because we want to get our job done quickly so we stay in part-time hours, so we try not to…
This whole day is spent worrying about Monday and the stress of tomorrow. Does anyone else hate their toxic job this much? Nightmares and all?
How many of you rent?
Follow up, what can you afford in rent according to those online calculators? For me, I can reasonably afford $1200 a month in my area. My actual rent is $1355. I just barely qualify for an admittedly good sized apartment in a relatively nice/safe area. Next year, when I need to renew, there's a good chance I may not be able to “just get by” and be forced to move to a much smaller, significantly less “nice” area. So what about you?
Pay cut for hourly associates.
In Massachusetts Walmart will no longer pay time and a half on Sundays and holidays, at my pay rate that's $130 missing from my paycheck every two weeks. My rent last year increased by $120, and inflation continues to increase prices on everything else. What good is a full time job if it doesn't cover our expenses?
