Was just thinking about the whole situation and the internet's response. Nobody seems sad or remorseful, I've even seen tags like #compresstherich. This should be a scary omen for the wealthy, people don't really care about, and some are actively rejoicing in, such a horrible (albiet very avoidable) death. Edit : Just to be clear, I also don't feel bad for them, just commenting on how this is a clear “sign of the times” so to speak.

This is more of a rant. I no longer work for that company, thank the Lord. But these pomps, self-righteous hardworking rich people are so full of shit. I still remember his words when he sat down with us and told us that there was never any room for personal life while working. He used to call us 6 days a week and furthermore emphasized the matter that if we are passionate about the job, we should be ready to forget our personal commitments. He religiously recited the tale of an engineer who had to rush for his child's emergency and got fired on the spot. A month later, HR tells us that CEO's birthday is coming up and all of us have to contribute 18 dollars. At that time, I had enough of CEO's shit and I no longer wanted to even work there. Are there jobs you’d suggest that’s low stress and give a decent amount of autonomy? I want something where I can work by myself and not have to deal with a lot of incessant micromanagement?

I work at a small company. 3/7 of them are related. Husband, wife and stepson. Any time I use PTO, I notify my direct supervisor (wife) and the accountant who tracks our PTO. Today I emailed in at 7a letting them both know I needed to use a day of sick leave, as I always do. At 845a she texts me asking if I’m coming to the happy hour get together tonight as well as asking me to let everyone else know I’m sick. I did not respond. She then texts me at 130p asking me again to email our team that I’m out sick as this is “our practice”. I’ve worked here for 16 months and never been told this nor done it. Also, I’ve called out sick so I find it odd that’s she’s sent 4 texts about something I view as unnecessary. Am I crazy or is…

I work as an interpreter for a US company, and today I received a call from my supervisor. She mentioned that she could hear me – between calls – discussing things with somebody and advised against having anyone in my office lol It's true that they can monitor my calls, but I'm curious if it's legal for them to listen to me after the call ends. It feels super weird. I likely signed various documents during the hiring process, but what about when the calls ends? I have no means of knowing if someone is listening to my calls, which is fine due to quality assurance, but I can’t even know if they can hear me once the calls have ended. I live in Minnesota.

I work a part time job at a community college and I’ve decided that I can’t take it anymore. There is too much stress around this job, more than what is warranted for a part time job. A higher up makes me feel ashamed for things that I have no control over, I’ve been sexually harassed here, and simply asking to work different hours is seen as such a huge, life changing request. I will admit I’m scared, but I feel like there’s something telling me to leave and that there’s better out there for me. I want to start my own small business and let go of things that don’t belong in my life. All I ask is maybe show some support and maybe give some advice, as it’s scary for me at the moment.
