Treat your job like you have 1 mil in your account.

If a job is aware that it’s your only income or choice they’ll dog you out, so just act like you have everything together and it’s a favor for you to work there, don’t ever tell a job you need them, don’t beg for extra hours just simply say “ hey I have some free time available if you need me to come in I can probably help out” stand up for yourself.

Mandatory overtime and mandatory use of PTO

I’m interested to get your thoughts on this because this is completely new to me. The company I work for is four days a week and 10 hour shifts. Voluntary overtime on Fridays and Saturdays. They provide a decent amount of PTO and sick leave at the beginning of the year, regardless of how long you’ve been an employee there. 80 hours PTO, 40 hours sick time, 40 hours floating holiday, and 40 hours of holiday pay. When I first started I didn’t think much of it. But once you see your…

Cost of living.

There is a guy on tiktok who was invited to cover the rebuilding of the I95 Bridge and he talked about the cost of a simple bottle of water at two different airports. At one, a normal, commercial, everyday airport, the water was $6 which is so expensive for an substance people need to literally keep living and a thing to carry that substance in. At the other airport, an incredibly nice, meant for the wealthy only air, this same bottle of water was $1. People working the national minimum wage have to work nearly an hour to afford a bottle of water at one place while others who can stand there while others make their money for them barely have any cost at all. Honestly I don't even know where I'm going with this other than to rant about how ridiculously unfair it is.
