I'm in the midst of some health issues that are going to take me out of work for a bit. I'm also have financial issues and car issues. Needless to say, I'm stressed at the moment. I'm trying to put on a brave face and smile and be bubbly because the customers love that. I want to work well and go home. That's it. I have a good relationship with a few coworkers and we joke and chit chat here and there. I don't talk more than they do. They don't talk more than I do. It's a neutral flow of conversation and information. I came in today and my supervisor pulled me aside and said that “me need to comment on everything” annoyed the manager so much the other day that I was almost sent home for it. I was blindsided. My supervisor also said I was annoying her.…

I don't even get to keep the extra $15 dollars I'm making. I am the most senior employee in my position, I have been here longer than my manager. And this is the thanks I get? I feel the love.
When I got medically separated from the military in February, I was supposed to receive money to help me move, and transition to civilian life. I was also supposed to have my moving expenses taken care of and have my furniture moved by the military as well. Turns out the military literally forgot about me and didn’t help me do anything. I’ve drained my savings moving from California to Texas. I got a job here in Dallas. I was offered 19.59 per hour full time, as a Maintenance technician at a hospital. I took the job because I needed it. Now that my savings are completely gone, It’s all catching up to me. Budgeting out my expenses and income.. I know soon I’m not going to be able to pay certain bills. I have a Wife and Daughter, and I feel like I’m letting them down. My wife is searching…
I work for a county in Washington state. Our office has this thing where if we call out sick in the morning, we are told to call back again before noon to “check in.” What is there to check in? I’m sick and miserable. You’re not my doctor. To request time off for medical appts, we have to give details such as what kind of medical appt. And if I request a whole day for medical appts I have to give more details breaking down the times I got each appt. How is this even remotely okay? I just wonder if this is common thing or just plain illegal.
Dismissed after interview
Recruiter head-hunted me on LinkedIn. Said I seemed like the ideal candidate, and after a phone interview [where I stated my interest in continuing is completely based on the advertised level of compensation] wanted to present me to their client. The client dismissed me because I wore a short-sleeve button-down instead of a long-sleeve button-down in the summer. And I was upfront that my interest in the position was 100% due to the level of compensation (~30% more than I currently make). In all other aspects, I was pretty much the ideal candidate. I'm the one with the skillset to help your company, I'm not gonna grovel. Fuck you, pay me. Illegitimi non carborundum. Note: I was able to take this attitude because I am perfectly content in the position I have now, but hey, more money is more money. Edit: In all honesty, I would have taken a job…
I am in ABSOLUTE HELL I've been dealing with a debilitating migraine nonstop for 2 DAYS NOW!! I struggle with migraines on and off throughout the years and when I have a migraine this bad my only choice left is to go get a Toradol shot at the urgent care or ER. This is definitely one of those situations my urgent care copay is $40 and I only have $15 to my name. I need to raise the $25 I'm short so I can pay my copay and get this migraine taken care of my cashapp is $apples1998 and my Venmo is @Courtney-Wallenmeyer. Im trying to at least raise the rest of the copay before they close at 8pm tonight as then I'll have to resort to going to the ER and my copay for the ER is literally $300 which I obviously can't afford that either and I really…
Today I got promoted from Analyst to Manager. They have put my old manager on another team and they told me I will now be managing the team. However, to my surprise, I got the exact same conditions on my contract as I had as an analyst. They said due to my age (too young), they can’t give me a raise, since I would be earning much more than other people in my age range (which seems like bs to me) Should I accept this promotion, only for the title, or should I still fight for a raise? Tbh I only care about getting a raise. The new title is just a nice-to-have, that in my opinion is required to get a substantial raise. If I don’t get a raise now, I will not get it in the next few years, I guess…
A few days ago I got a message from a manager asking if I wanted to interview for a job he had available. I say sure and apply for the job and he sends me a teams invite. The interview was suppose to be today but yesterday I get a template email saying I am no longer being considered. I message him and ask him what’s up with this email. He proceeds to cancel the invite then sends me a generate email saying even less. It just felt disrespectful. He reach out to me, asked me to apply, set up my interview then I get rejected without even heads up. Normally I wouldn’t care but he reached out as the hiring manager the least he can do is give me some info or tell me it’s outta his control. I had taken time off for this shit and then all…
Every time I've worked somewhere that HAS NOT forced social events, everyone has generally been normal. I liked almost everyone I worked with. If someone initiated a social event, my food was being paid for, I would go if I didnt have anything else going on. However, every time I've worked somewhere that has forced social events and tried to make my workplace a fraternity has had the weirdest, most socially fucking inept employees. I hated everyone I worked with so much I felt like I was constantly furious, and yelled at people publicly on the regular, which isnt in my nature at all tbh. Here are my stories of my coworkers that the company wanted me to befriend at these weird forced events: – Guy did a bunch of pills, punched someone in the throat, then sexually harassed 6 people in a span of 3 hours – Girl asks…
