So I went into work today sick as a dog, and got sent home by two different managers that were on shift. A coworker who was already on shift stepped in to fill my position which i consider being covered, right? as my sickness has worsened, I asked for coverage on the shift group chat and accommodations are being made by my fellow teammates moving around to fill the empty position. I also consider that reasonable coverage. fast forward to me sending a message to my GM stating the condition of my sickness and how i’m most likely contagious and that I shouldn’t show up to work tomorrow. The GM proceeds to tell me i’m being written up twice for leaving today without coverage and for abusing the call out policy. Mind you.. my shift was to start at 7am tomorrow, and I did physically call the GM after I…

Just browsing Reddit. And then I clocked out.
idk if this is the right sub but i worked at a hotel in miami beach and just recently came back from vacation about a week ago (bare with me as it’s integral to the story), my old bosses have been offering me a promotion but i declined a good 5 times because i don’t want the responsibility nor will they give me the raise i deserve for dealing with that shit. since i was working in 3 different departments, i’ve been asking for a raise but they’ve been blowing me off for months on end. so she decided to not do any of her work the week i was gone and saved it all for me so that i could do it when i came back. these are things that SHE should be doing if she’s a boss… right?? anyways, today she decides to blame me for her mess…
I work in tech and I've been unemployed for about 1.5 months now and have been interviewing like crazy. Despite having five years in my field, I haven't gotten past round 2 for most employers (not to mention so many companies nowadays demand you do online assessments before you even get to speak with a person) because there are two disciplines in my career. Needless to say, I've been looking for an employer who would be willing to train me in discipline B, and I've also been studying on my own. I'm very upfront about my experience and what I bring to the table, as well as offer contact information if they ask to…

Company is about to screw itself
Some of you might find this funny. In March got approved to work from home just before having surgery for a brain tumor. If you ask me they did it because I am a walking OSHA and Workman's comp hazard. Was supposed to be off work for six weeks. Manager calls me 3 weeks after surgery to ask work questions. “Dude, I don't know. I can't think straight.” He gets annoyed. I get extended another six weeks because brains don't like being told how fast they have to heal. I now have one more month off work until the end of June. Now my company is pushing my manager to take back my company phone and send it in. I remind him that I am approved to work from him until the end of September. When I come back, how are people going to talk to me? I can't use…
Look, I doubt this is the right sub for this, but how can I make money with just a laptop and preferably all alone. Doesnt have to be a full living wage, just something to supplement my money that i get 100% of. I know how to do some computery things. What would you advise as a boss-less side hustle?
