I live in an older building and there are parts of it that need some patching. I didn't realize just how much though until a bat woke me up in my sleep. Normally bats aren't a big deal, small and fly about the ceiling. This bat however was large and flew aggressively & attacked. This is a big sign of rabies (abnormally aggressive behavior). I left the apartment to stay in a hotel then went to the emergency room the next day to get rabies treatment. I'm a bit of a wimp, I must admit. I was unwilling to return to my apartment in fear of both the bat and the fact that it was not secure. It took a week for the landlord to get someone in to patch the potential entry ways for further animals & whatnot. I'm a game developer. During this time my company was in…

So I (19 M) work in a impound lot. I take pictures of cars, clean nasty cars to store personal property of customers. Occasionally I will release cars and personal property to customers. It’s a 8-5 job with unpaid lunch for 15 an hr, which is more difficult to live on in my area, and I work in a warehouse all day in any weather. It’s the only job I was able to get at my age with that Kind of pay (besides Amazon or shitty jobs). I do everything by the book and respectfully. I make sure to treat everyone with respect coworkers and customers alike. I’ve never had a complaint. I’ve never lost anything. I’ve only missed 5 or so days this year not including vacation which wasn’t paid for and I won’t be able to get Pto till a year in. Even though I work my ass…
I don't know it seems nothing suits me as a person. I hate the team work in these entry level jobs. I feel I might need a higher certificate to apply to some of the jobs tha could fit my personality. Like computer certs. or a skill to do side work like designing websites.
Hello – recently got a new job, about 7 months ago, about a month ago the CEO announced mandatory 2 days a week & that there would be a 'consequence' if we did not go in and they would also be tracking our keycard swipes to see how many times we are going into the office a week. One of the directors knew a lot of people did not like that & had asked for us to send him emails with reasons/exceptions why we wanted to remain remote/alternatives. I did email the director asking him for 1 day a week as opposed to 2 due to some family health issues (I don't have any doctor's notes), of course, my request was denied. I know other people got their exceptions approved (for whatever reasons) and someone on my team was also recently hired to be fully remote. They don't even have…
After working for a company for over two years, never taking vacation, working non stop weekends, I was terminated with no explanation and the series of events that followed are mind boggling. My boss led the conversation by saying “We'll give you your two weeks and then go our separate ways” as if I even knew why he was calling or what he was talking about. Stunned and seemingly having no idea what was going on, I responded “wait what?” “What are you talking about?” He goes “We're letting you go.” I respond “What? Why?”…….and he says, I kid you not “do you need an explanation?” I need an explanation when they run out of chicken at chipotle, of course I want an explanation of why you're firing me out of the blue when there's been literally 0 indication that this would ever happen. Nothing like finding out things are…
I was applying for jobs on indeed and saw this one had 3/5 stars on a decent amount of reviews so I had a feeling it was gonna be bad but I didn't expect this level of toxicity.
A coworker of mine (who is awesome, no fault of theirs or anything) got hired a few weeks before me and makes 13k more than I do doing much less work than I do. I feel like I shot myself in the foot during negotiation. I’m awkward at negotiating, they asked me my salary range. I said 55-65. They offered 55. I just feel pissed. Feels like a punch to the gut. I like the job but I only started a few weeks ago. I have a 90 day trial whatever to get started, for context. Any idea how I should handle this?

Interview 8 years in the making.
I had a Human Resource rep reach out to me to schedule an interview for a sales position I applied for. I’ve been applying to so many jobs I honestly could not remember applying to this one and I’m not going to turn it down because I need a job. They start with having me sit through a webinar and then fill out a questionnaire about myself. The HR rep reaches out to let me know I made it to the next round, a phone interview. I’m on the phone interview and after about 20 mins they mention that I’m not too far from their corporate office in Dallas Texas. I responded with “that’s odd, I used to live close to Dallas but I moved away awhile ago and now I live about 700 miles from Texas. Are you sure you’re looking at my resume?” Turns out I applied to…
Loyalty gets you nowhere. Anyway, I got an offer from another company starting at $3 USD more per hour than what I was making before 🙂
