I'm sorry this is just a rant, but how in the fuck has corporate culture gotten so inflated? People who've never stepped inside said workplace making haphazard decisions based purely on numbers without regard for actual life circumstances is absolutely infuriating.
Glassdoor advice
Hi all! I work for a medical foundation (in the States, and that's as specific as I want to be) that has gone to absolute shit in the past few years. I want to leave a Glassdoor review to warn others to stay away. However, I need this job so I can't open myself up to any potential retaliation. Does anyone know what I can do so that I can be 100% sure that my Glassdoor review won't be tracked back to me?
I ask this here because look at the power they have given people – look at this sub and others that have made national news. Twitter and reddit have brought people together which poses a threat to those at the top. How do they fix that? Break the systems bringing people together. I don’t use twitter. Reddit is the only social platform I use anymore. Twitter looks like it’s becoming a heavily right leaning organization, catering to those on the right – the side that props up those at the top. Reddit seems to lean left, for the most part. With the recent news regarding the API fees, it feels like reddit is going the way of twitter. Potentially pushing a large number of users away. What is an attempt to rebalance or reduce active communities that threaten those at the top? This is all speculation, of course.
Unlikely, considering the average auto upper manager is owner's expectation is COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE. LOL Got this from the number one retail consulting guru system for auto dealers…. #NeverGoBack
How can I stay focused…
Hi, I hate my job. Honestly, I’m burnt out and i’ve been doing the job for a long time, so it’s pretty easy for me. It just doesn’t keep me engaged. The workplace has massively changed, and we even had to do layoffs a few months ago. I find myself not working, and spending time on social media, Reddit, or other side tasks at work that aren’t important. We are remote, so it makes it easy to not get caught, but it will eventually get caught because of how my job works. I procrastinated so much today that now I feel guilty and I’m going to work until 7pm just to get some need to do things done. How do I stay focused during the day? Editing to add: I’ve been remote for years and haven’t had this issue previously. While I’m typing that I think I’m realizing that I…
I'm not being paid for doing these training modules, but I'm required to do these in order to continue with my orientation. This is for a PRN job. I'm required to do 33 of these, some of these being 2+ hours long in terms of length for one training module. I am not being paid for doing them but I am being paid half of my negotiated rate when I actually start my orientation. I hate this lmao.
The “two week notice” concept is BS
Most jobs do not give you a two week notice or any sort of notice at all. Many people get let go on a Friday afternoon and by Monday, their access is revoked. If one works at one of those companies, “Friday” notice should be good enough from the employees side. YMMV if you need them for a recommendation, but respect and etiquette should be a two way street.
