In an effort to transition PGA of America away from a traditional golfing organization that employs full-time professional players, the organization recently announced that it plans to merge with LIV. The move comes as part of a larger overhaul of the organization with the emphasis being shifted away from professional golfers and the payouts those players can expect for making the tour. Prior to the merger of PGA and LIV, PGA of America actively campaigned against golfers working with LIV. PGA was vocal about its opposition to LIV, citing its unprofessionalism, its lack of profitability, and its unfair treatment of golfers, among other things. PGA of America also argued that LIV didn’t provide adequate healthcare and retirement benefits for golfers, leaving them vulnerable to exploitation. Anotherl major issue PGA of America took with LIV was their connection to the Saudi Arabian government. Due to the oppressive human rights violations and…
I just need to rant. There's been illness going around the area. I am pregnant, and don't want to get sick because I can't use any good cold meds, and when I get sick I usually lose my voice and my job involves a lot of talking, so I'd have to use sick time (which I don't have much of at all). Thankfully, my job is heavily remote and my husband commutes to an area that doesn't seem to be having this issue, so I've been able to avoid contracting anything so far. I work remotely 4 days a week, so I reached out to my coworkers to ask if they're feeling okay because my in-office day is coming up and I don't wanna come in if they're sick. They said they're not, so that's good and I'll go in, but then one started BRAGGING about coming into the office…
Let’s stop calling it 40 hour work week
Because two people need to do it. Back when it was called 40 hour work week, only men worked, so on an average, a couple worked 40 hour weeks. Now, a couple works 80 hours. They are the ones that need couples to create families to produce children to feed their capitalist machine, so this is super relevant to them. So, from now on, let's call it a 80 hour work week, because it sounds much more accurate than 40 hour work week. Companies measuring man-hours (however dumb the metric is) always multiply hours by manpower, and we should do the same.
We can’t possibly get things done
What stupid bitch. We are killing America because we want hybrid jobs then goes on to say she can keep writing standing or sitting or dictating from bed
Started a job Monday and I think I’m already seeing red flags…? So I started a new job Monday. All was well and then I got an email from our regional manager. This is the guy who hired me/I interviewed with. It was an email sent to a few people thanking us for signing up to man a booth at a convention this Friday. I was listed to have a three hour shift in the morning. The only issue is.. I never signed up. And I was supposed to have Friday off (our business is always closed that day). Regional manager stops by today. So I brought up the convention thing and I was like what is that? And he said every manager or asm person has to go and they pick their shift. And I was like “oh I don’t remember picking my shift” and he said “you didn’t…
Starting to think I would rather be told upfront in a job interview that my time and health won’t be valued and giving up my personal time is an expectation / borderline requirement. The fake-ness and manipulation of the whole “we’re a family here” “we care about you” trope is just so painful. And those who have been in the corporate working world for a few years already know not to believe that shit anyway.
