Making it harder to breathe. Literally.
I know that the wildfires in Canada are causing the bad air quality here in the northeast, but it doesn’t help that highways are just as congested as they were before the pandemic. It irks me that companies who most likely have pledges to go green and lower their carbon footprint, are the same ones that forced people, who could do their jobs from home, back to the office and onto the road. When I look at the air quality index and see it 4x higher than it was in 2020, those employers are the first ones I think of and we should hold them accountable.
Let me just point this out in the beginning — in my personal life I do not lie, cheat, or steal. I have a strong sense on integrity. My friends and family would agree that I have a strong set of personal ethics. But the work world has beat that out of me. I was just given an assessment. Do these clowns really think I am going to answer “I have a hard time waking up” or “I think it’s okay to steal” with a yes? Of course I am going to give the “right” answer. My assessment says I am a stellar human. We had a test in our job yesterday. I literally knew only one answer so I googled the rest. Mind you — there has been no training that would help you to be able to pass that test. This company literally does not train at all…
Good for who!??!
Don't you want to keep some sort of distance between you and your workplace when it's your day off? I see people often come in on their day off to shop. Why not keep your day off just that, a day away from your workplace?
I got hired at a day care and during training we had to sign a contract. In the contract it states that I will be charged for damaging work clothes, for any new uniform shirt provided to me ( I only get one, and they cost $22 after that) as well as charges for specific property damages or if you lose the items. The contract also stated that the employer will charge me $100 if I am fired or leave the company within six months. I also am responsible for paying half of my background check ($20) and will have to pay the full amount if I quit within 6 months. I live in an at-will state so this really stood out to me and i did not sign that portion. The pay for this job is only 14/hr, and it drops to 12.50 in August. Im just wondering if…
Hi everyone. Long time lurker. I’m having some difficulties with my partners work situation right now and I was just wondering if there’s anything I should do. He’s really sick today, he tried to call in and they flat out told him no. For reference, I’ve seen him call out 3 times. Twice for covid. And once for one of my procedures. He’s constantly covering everyone and most weeks he works 6 days out of the week. He’s a crew trainer at Wendy’s which I know isn’t super great. But I was just curious if I should like report this to the corporate office? I’m not trying to be a Karen lol. But I feel like that’s a pretty big safety hazard considering he’s been vomiting and can barely stand up without pain. I’m in Indiana if it matters. We are already planning to relocate to Michigan asap but that…
I suppose I can understand some of these, but the childcare thing? Hell no. There’s a very short list of people I’d trust to watch our daughter, and no one from work is on that list. This company claims to be family friendly but they never have been anything resembling family friendly
// Long rant ahead, sorry if there are formatting issues. I just moved into my current company 2 months ago. It is a huge company with multiple branches across the globe. Pay is good. We have on average 2 days a week overtime, but it is paid. For context, the past companies I have worked with rarely have OT. I usually end my day 30 mins before the regular 8 hour work day as long as I have finished my tasks. So when we needed to work overtime, it's not a big deal. Sadly, I was made redundant in my last company. During my first month in my current company, I was in the office everyday. 2nd month, I moved to 1-2 days a week in the office. Reasons I did this: – My parents are currently with us. Been here for 2 months now. I like to make myself…
A job posting from a company I recently left. These are the expectations of you as a dish washer. Wtf do some of these even mean. Wtf do some of these have to do with washing dishes.
