This was over 10 years ago and I used to work at a frozen yogurt shop for minimum wage. I was a full time college student at that time and the school was in another town. Whenever I would come home for summer or the holidays, I’d pick up a few shifts here and there. When I had nothing to do over the summer, I would work at this shop regularly. Ok, hear me out. I think that crazy tipping culture stems from workers not being paid enough, so companies are turning to tipping culture to boost their workers’ income, so they don’t have to.
