Now you can't when drive a bus without the threat to your health. More insane is that this driver was carrying a gun in the first place. Obviously something like this has happened in the past. There wouldn't be enough money in the world to get me to work a job with a description of, “customers may pull a gun on you”

Since I got laid off in mid-April, I busted my ass doing interview after interview all month. I got stood up by 3 different companies two weeks ago and just got a rejection email from one of them. Good to know my time isn’t respected, I guess. But nobody wants to work, right?
Pay my cell phone bitch?
So my job used to reimburse us for cell phone bill once our receipt or invoice was submitted. They don’t do that anymore. Now , if you want, they will add an employees number to their corporate account and then send them a new SIM card if they’re still using the same phone. So employee pays no cell phone bill. So anyone who works in cellular networks, does using a company SIM card pretty much mean they can invade my privacy as far as the juicy stuff ? Messages, app info , photos etc?
For starters – to explain a bit of my “drive”. I don't have much in the ways of family or friends, so work is often my social time. I care about those I work with and seeing these people 40 hours a week, I learn a lot about them and take genuine interest in the comings and goings. This has led me to work insanely hard to ensure a smooth work environment and keep drama out of it. The job I'll be talking about was just a simple line cook at a Cracker Barrel. Anyone familiar can probably relate to what it's like having a motivated cook vs an unmotivated one. I genuinely loved that job and I loved the environment and the people I got to meet. I got to be myself, expressive, listen to my own music and made guests happy with great food. I took great pride…
Alternate opinion
Everyone on the sub here is so against their boss. Mocking decisions and rules. How about this, if you want to make these decisions for yourself start your own company. I guarantee youll end up with the same rules you used to mock. They control the asset of the work itsself. You control only the labor itsself. Until you make the leap to control both. Stop complaining.
Awarded quarters for perfect attendance
Few years ago, I worked at a well known healthcare company doing data entry work. I have countless stories and incidents I can recall about how awful it was, but the place made sweatshops look like a luxurious career to be in to simply put it. I recently hit my 4th year there, and having been trying to leave for well over a year now (I believe my managers had something to do with my job search, but that's a story for another time). One day during one of our team huddles, my manager announced that they were holding a contest. For the past few months, they claimed, we were severely understaffed due to extended vacation days, excessive call outs, “abusive usage” of medical leaves, etc. So in order to “motivate” us to come into work, those who had perfect attendance for an entire month will win a prize. We…
Sorry if this isn't allowed, I made a post a few months ago about getting let go at my job without any warning, things haven't been great and the idea of going back to work for a company makes me anxious and ill, but what it did give me was the little push I need to start my own business, and even though still in the infintile stage, (small Etsy shop with some clothing) I would have never had the courage to try if I didn't get let go. Sorry for ranting I just have no one else to let know about this 🙁
Again and again
I wake up, look at my calendar and I do not want to get out of bed. Endless meetings with no room to breathe, everyday again and again and again. Wanted to vent, have to go into a meeting now.
