Cannot imagine doing this the rest of my life. I got my first job ever (i’m 17) and was paid £5 which was later raised to £6. i quit a few months ago but it still bothers me so i needed to rant. (had a nightmare about it last night tbh) it was recently raised, but at the time i was working minimum wage for my age was £4.81 = $5.94 how is this legal? there’s even a separate “minimum living wage” that’s recommended but not enforced?? i’m thankful to not have to support myself on a job quite yet, if i did i’d simply die, this was the only job that would take me with no prior experience. i don’t even know where to begin with the owner so i’ll make a list i guess. the owner did not tolerate mistakes. like new people would come in for a…

Forced to work Memorial Day weekend. Have to work my 8hour shift on Monday or I get written up and placed under investigation for leaving early. This is the fourth holiday in a row I’ve been forced. The people that run this company are all off. I work a union job and pay my dues. The company I work for makes billions of dollars in profits every year. Just can’t go on without me being there for 8hours I guess

I really dont want to burn any bridges cause I live in such a tiny small town, but the total disrespect from my job is stressing me out. Would you guys bother with 2 weeks notice? I've only been there a month, have only been paid once (had to ask for my cheque both times and still waiting on the correct amount this time) and now my manager is going to try to take the majority of tips for sitting around and drinking on the job. There's a plethora of other things but I dont wanna write an essay. I'm thinking of going in today and telling them they need to find someone else going forward. It might screw me from ever cooking in this town again, but I dont think I want to keep cooking anyways…Wwyd?

I am sorry if you lost someone to Covid. I am sorry if it ruined your family busines or if you lost your job. I am sorry if you suffer from long Covid. But for me and probably Millions of other workers, the lockdowns were the best part of life. During the first Lockdown I had 3 Months of free time while getting paid. During the second lockdown I had HALF A YEAR of free time! This was the longest I had free time and didnt have to worry about money in my entire life.
