Hey folks, this is a mini rant / question. Sorry for any grammar mistakes. On May 1st, I submitted a time off request for the weekend of the 26,27, and 28th at my part time job. The request was approved without issue on May 5th. Three days ago, on the 19th the time off suddenly got overturned out of the blue. I had plans to complete in a pretty big 3 day bike race and had already payed a non refundable deposit for it ($50). Was really looking forward to the race. Now, I will not be able to do the race and have to work when I was approved to be off. This is really frustrating and upsetting that this would happen. Apparently, from word of mouth I've heard that one of my co-workers has his graduation this weekend and “forgot” to request it off. The other one is…

Caught my boss in a lie, need advice
So I made a post either yesterday or the day before about this person, but more has happened since and I need some genuine advice. I recently had a pretty nasty sinus infection. I spiked a fever during it and had it for about 6 days. I worked one of those days while I was sick because my fever went down from the night before and I thought that I was over it. Well, turns out that that was a lie, thanks immune system. I spiked a fever that night and took the next two days off, one to go to the urgent care (I don't have a pcp rn) and the second because the doctor wanted to give me a day to rest and let my meds work. I got a doctor's note and everything, but my boss is continuing to refer to me being out sick as “days…
I hate having a great interview.
I hate nothing more than having a great interview at a place I really want to be. having the interviewer talk about aspects of the job like you will be doing them, them saying they will make a decision and i would hear from HR, leaving the interview optimistic, then get nothing at all after that. Playing the waiting game for 2+ weeks. Not wanting to seriously pursue other job options because I don’t want burn those bridges if the job comes through. In the end I’ve just wasted weeks of my life. Watching shows I don’t care about because most shows are shit now. Eating alot of ice cream and fruity pebbles. Can’t get high because I will have to piss if i get the job. And can’t afford any other drugs because I’m not working. What a time to be alive.
Concessions to Employee
My supervisor told my coworkers he is giving me special concessions (behind my back) Could he be referring to my disability accommodations?! Coworkers don’t want to further clarify it to me
The machine gets me…
In the realm of Monday's dawn, Existential dread, my heart is drawn. The 9-5 grind begins anew, A routine that feels all too true. From the moment alarm bells chime, I'm caught in the rhythm of ticking time. A symphony of office walls, The mundane melody that enthralls. Through crowded streets, I make my way, Lost amidst the masses, day by day. An invisible cog within the machine, Bound by expectations, unseen. The weight of deadlines hangs so near, A constant reminder of my deepest fear. In this sea of suits, I blend and fade, Yearning for a life less confined, unswayed.
On my day off my work called everyone in for a mandatory meeting, they did tell us a week in advance tho, at 8pm. Anyway, I thought we would go over important things, but literally it was like elementary school all over again. We put papers on our backs and everyone wrote nice things about each other, then we read them out loud. Everyone was extremely annoyed by the call in, and no one wanted to participate, including myself. Afterwards we talked about how we would improve the customer experience (I work in a big corporation sandwich shop) with a game. I was already gonna turn in my two weeks because of coworkers, very dramatic coworkers, but I'm thinking I need to speed up the process. Tomorrow we have a Supervisor meeting that will last four hours, two hours after I'm supposed to clock out. Advice? I don't have another…
Pro WFH Demonstration Signs
We’re picketing outside our HQ because big Boomer boss man is insisting we return to work for “the culture”. We are already understaffed, turnover is high and company is complaining that they can’t retain people under 45. Any ideas for catchy signs for our demonstration? Edit: To be more specific we’re demanding to keep our current flexible telework schedules that are between us and our immediate supervisor, rather than adopt his suggest 5 day a week in office policy.
