So, a bit of context, I'm from Argentina which if you don't know is going through one of the worst many crisis this country had. Inflation is +%100 annually, poverty rates are around 40% and the political climate is really unstable. Most of us, Argentinian profesionals, look for remote work because our currency is super devaluated (1 usd = 500 pesos / minimum monthly wage is at 110usd aprox.). So for us, a 2k USD salary is like being almost rich. But this is something else, this is literally trying to exploit people. The announce asks for a Digital Designer but then lists all of these ridiculous requirement and then blatantly slams you with the $ offer. We are not idiots, we are just poor. Fuck outsourcing and fuck this fuckers that think that they can get away with this shit.

I need to “get to know people”
My boss had a development chat with me. He says I need to be more visible, and get to know people (in the business) outside of work. I work at a large corporation. He says being at the office is important for visibility. He expects me to make friends with at least one person by the end of the year (in a non-work way). I work at retail. The retail I work at is horrible enough for the new hires to leave in their first days and they wouldn't stay for a week. The toxicity is awful in there. They're forcing anyone to take rotational scheduling, even though we are severely understaffed, there is no other options to say no to the rotational scheduling, if we do, they'll put us to part-time. So my mom and I were at the mall today and we stopped in at a shoe store. The girls there complimented my hair (I have it dyed bright blue and purple). “We’re not allowed to do that here.” She told me. “You’re not allowed to dye your hair?” “Only natural colours. So I’m always jealous when I see anyone with bright colours.” As my mom and I left I told her I didn’t think the girls were being paid enough for the company to be able to tell them what they could and couldn’t do with their hair. My mom agreed. She said as long as it’s clean and neat it shouldn’t matter. Honestly, I feel like workplaces shouldn’t be allowed to tell people what they can and can’t do to their bodies. Clothing sure? You want them to look presentable, but hair? That crossed a line.

Dislike working alongside manager
I got a student job working at a front desk. I have to work alongside a manager. I don’t like working with the manager because I feel like I have no discretion and have to follow everything. All I need to really do is get my tasks done, but the manager is really particular with things. They always remind me to do things. I don’t think it hurts to do things my way. I’m not a person who likes to follow strict rules. They expect me to put in a lot of effort when helping people, but I don’t get paid that much so im not gonna go out of my way to help someone. Taking away PPTO for religious reasons
So my gf works at Walmart full time and she needed a Saturday off for her confirmation. She’s talked to her coach about clearing her points off because her coworker was able to switch with her so she wouldn’t need to put any time in. Just checked now and 7 hours of ppto have been deducted and the app says she wasn’t even paid for that day either. She has talked to the coach and the coach says he does not know what happened. Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
