This is another update to: https://www.reddit.com/r/antiwork/comments/12sfu04/i_cant_do_my_job_because_of_my_hfaaspergers_and/?sort=confidence In my previous update I was able to get an Temporary Layoff with work, to move to a new department. Part of the condition of me accepting this is that I would be paid out my 7 or so vacation days I had. Well, guess who's vacation days WEREN'T PAID OUT? AND GUESS WHO NOW CAN'T AFFORD RENT THIS MONTH? Fuck me. Just fuck me. I did just report my employer under ESA in Ontario. I'm done.
The place is called “Cosmic Charlies” in Ontario. I call the manager that I am unwell. Get a message half an hour later.
my boss and manager are pissed that I haven't disclosed my medical condition to them (I have taken some sick days). they keep begging my coworkers to tell them. based on some solid info, I know that if they found out my diagnosis was a serious mental illness, they'd fire me. I know this is illegal, but then what? I don't want anything to do with the legal system. I hate this bullshit
When did a 9-5 become an 8-5?
Nowadays, nowhere you work will have you on a 9-5 schedule unless you get no break. I’ve brought this up with people and they say it’s always been 8-5 and ppl just say that to be specific about the actual number of hours worked. But I SWEAR it wasn’t always, it was 9-5 WITH lunch, right?? I honestly don’t know at this point
So basically i was in a paid internship, and i dropped it within the first month because I got an offer at a more technical job that isn’t like my current one (Project management in IT) , and i really didn’t like the office job thing where it’s sedentary most of the time and just requires focus My direct supervisor asked me if I’m willing to accept a counter offer and that i should send him the package details, I haven’t replied yet, what should i say? Also, my supervisor is extremely helpful and his team is was very supportive of me and always instilled confidence in me to ask questions, but i also heavily hate project management and want a more technical role like a sys admin entry level or something with networking systems
We were dirt poor when I grew up. We had just a tiny house until I was like 6 or 7. Then my parents inherited some land from my grandparents that died and we upgraded to a slightly bigger House. Money was still tight – I got lucky to get a scholarship though Football but still had to work a part time job throughout summer to get through College. I also had to help in the family business since age 17. With their inheritance my parents build a few houses and appartments and started renting them. I still couldnt afford my own house until I was 25 – money was allways tight. Then came the dot com crash and the recession of 2008 that almost ruined us. But because we were smart and hard working we prevailed. We just raised prices from 600/month to 1000/month and still barely made it.…
