I been with my current job for a little over a year now (started March 2022) and at first we hardly ran any production. I’m talking about running for a total of 3 hours out of the 56 I worked my first week. Fast forward to the beginning of this year, we’ve been more productive than ever. For whatever reason my job decided that instead of 2 12 hour shifts they wanted to get 3 8 hour shifts. So they started hiring more people trying to get enough for 3 shifts. Somewhere along the way that planned got strapped, and it left us over staffed. Instead of moving some people to other departments or simply stop hiring people for our department, they decided too make four shifts total (4 on 4 off). They claimed to do this because we need to run 24/7, but in actuality it’s because we have…

We got a talking to like high schoolers
Was at work yesterday and my supervisor comes down and told us that our donors and big company execs that give us boat loads of money (that the workers never ever see) saw us on our phones, and supervisor got chewed out for it. “Keep yourselves busy. and please limit phone usage to your break or after work hours.” At my job there's literally nothing reception can do if that “busy work” is done. So I stare at my computer screen bored out of my mind, so I answer texts/order food. I don't get paid enough to care that deeply. Pay me a respectable wage instead of making these rich assholes think im happy in being paid barely 500 every two weeks.
“I worry about the loss of creativity when people are permanently working from home and not having those water cooler moments, where they bounce ideas off each other.”
Fyi too almost every day people seemed to call off at this place or say they had “appointments”. I was there almost a year and I definitely did not miss the most time out of anyone there. I explained this all to unemployment so I should catch them on their BS, but it’s just ridiculous still.
Don’t be a hero, just leave.
As the title says, we as a company got acquired by another company ( a big German company) and found out that our vacation days aren’t given out in the beginning like how it was before it was acquired. Now we get our vacation days divided by 12 and given to us at the end of the month. I’m assuming this is because we don’t use up all our vacation days in the beginning of the year. I’m new to the country, but this sounds absurd lol. Is this legal? P.S they cut our salary if we take more vacation days than allocated
PTO discussion
For reference, I work for a small digital marketing agency that employees around 8 people in office, been here almost a year now. No hybrid or work from home allowed. There have been plenty of red flags while working here. I am getting married next month. I requested two hours off a week prior to the wedding to get my teeth whitened. I requested the week of my honeymoon off when I started. We get 12 PTO days a year, 18 after you've been with the company for 5 years. 12 days period, sick and vacation are all from this same bucket. I have never called out or taken a 'sick' day since I've been here. I have this meeting on my calendar today to discuss how after my honeymoon, I will only have 2 days left for the year. They understand how I'm going on my honeymoon, but any…
