I work for a non profit medical center. I am the outreach coordinator. They hired me 3 weeks ago and I have spoken with my supervisor twice. No direction, mission is relatively clear, but they haven't given me any clear duties. Whenever I ask a question to the program manager, she basically says I'm doing everything right and that things will “pick up”. I wasn't told I couldn't work from home, so I have just been acquiring contacts from the house. This is a new position and I feel like they hired me, just so they could spend the money. Why does this feel so weird?

I got one working in a grocery store for having an “over elaborate handshake” with a customer.

Who the fuck cares why I want to take time off from work? Why would it matter? Why do I need to give a reason to why I want or need to be absent? I’m either working or I’m not. The only reason why they would want a reason is to use it as a non-justifiable excuse to be absent from work. It’s a form of control and manipulation to guilt you into working unless it’s a life/death or a legal reason.

It's all about the work environment. Why make someone feel guilty for using their PST? Why make someone feel worse when they need rest to take care of themselves? If encouraging your employees to use days off for their issues and illnesses was a normal thing then people wouldn't do it as much and more than likely they'd be a better employee. Duh.

It’s time for the proletariat to take a stand against the filthy rich who did not earn their $150 billion dollars but exploited those who worked for/with them to elevate themselves into such a position of power in this society. I want people outside of Tesla factory’s with signs, I want capitalism to SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. I want billionaires spending billions on security for their homes out of fear from the repercussions of their own greed. The people of Texas around where Elon Musk resides fail us everyday. Let’s flip the power structure in America. Improvise. Adapt. Execute. Overcome.
