Retirement should mean Retirement

In a time when housing supply is at a critical level to the point of rampant homelessness in major cities, why aren’t we converting useless office buildings to housing? When fossil fuel prices are sky high and carbon emissions are literally the death knell of society as we know it, when infrastructure such as roads and public transit are stretched to their limits and commutes are several times longer and more accident-prone than they ought to be, why are we filling the roads with more commuters who never needed to be there in the first place? When families’ budgets are stretched so thin they have a hard time putting food on the table, how can we justify getting child care for a luxury like disappearing to an office every day for 10+ hours… If a job doesn’t need you physically in an office, that company is actively harming the environment…
Passed training with 100% across the board, got sick my 4th week with my tonsil growing so large I'm having trouble sleeping, swallowing, and speaking. Doctor wants to try antibiotics before removing the tonsil, but suggested I take about 3 days off work to make sure I give my throat enough rest to recover because he doesn't want me to have to have the surgery. I texted my sup my doctor's note stating such and was met with “just so you know, you're not required to submit any documentation, you'll still be written up for any time you've missed.” This is a position that works closely with healthcare, btw, and plasters “family” everywhere. Sure, okay. I'm positive you see us as “family” while actively encouraging us to go against doctor's advice and harm ourselves further.
Honestly! I am so relieved! She was bullying and gaslighting me and I finally had the guts to go to HR and tell on her. Today I had a meeting with her, where she accused me of badmouthing her behind her back (which I didn't) and was very angry, saying stuff like “if you hadn't quit, I would have fired you soon anyway”. According to HR there were a lot of other employees who left the company because of her and her bullying. She was seriously so angry because I ended it on my terms and tried her best to just hurt me one more time. But honestly I am so glad, that i am done with her! Working for her has destroyed my self esteem and had made me depressed, to the point that I often had suicidal thoughts, because of all the bullying and gaslighting. I know, she…
Fuck you Jimmy
I am an introvert who hates the fakeness of corporate culture. I also have BPD so being around fake people all day is draining and gives me anxiety. I’m smart and worked really hard when I was WFH. Lots of late nights and I felt very motivated because nobody was hovering over my shoulder & I didn’t have to worry about making small talk with colleagues at the office. This led to me getting promoted once we got back to the office. First, my office said we only needed to come in two days per week. Fine, that’s doable. Then a few weeks later they raised to to three days per week. Then a few months later four days per week. Now that I have to spend the majority of my week in a depressing office environment, my work product has declined. I am totally drained when I get back…
I messed up, didn’t get it in writing
Honestly, I hate that there is no “good faith” offers anymore. I hate even more that I fell for one in this day and age. I have been with my current company about a year and a half now. 3 months ago, I saw opportunity to advance within and went for a small promotion. I'd be under the same manager just a different department and it was going to be a better fit all around, but the best part was I'd get a raise. So when I was offered the position I was overjoyed. It came with an immediate pay bump of $1.25 per hour. Awesome! Then my manager did something unexpected. They offered me an additional raise of $2 per hour after my trial period – 3 months. Um, yes please. Needless to say, I spent those three months working hard to prove not only that I could do…
