Employers Losing Money Just To Make Employees Miserable

So, the example that immediately comes to mind was this one job where they had rigged the time card we used to not allow you to clock in until 5 minutes after the page is opened. When you login, it rejects your credentials, you refresh, retype, refresh, repeatedly angrily mashing the enter key, and keep having to redo the captcha, and every time it takes five minutes. This amounts to 25 minutes every week, which then gets rounded up to an hour every two week pay interval. They think they are saving money, but they’re paying their employees less, and actually wasting their time for an hour every pay period. You didn’t get an extra hour out of your employee, you got less work. Then, when there was something that needed my attention, everyone else has to wait that same stupid five minutes it takes for me to clock in.…

I was only scheduled 2 and a half hours.

I work at a large fast food chain known for their religion and I tend to be put on dishes a lot. My boss cut my hours and insists on 2 and a half hour days evidently, well as im working those days my team leads criticize me in the public work group chat for not finishing my job, and my question to them is how am I supposed to finish my job in the 2 and a half hours you've given me? I clock in 3 minutes early as we are allowed to, and I took no breaks while working, in order to get what I even got done finished. They were nitpicking that I did not put them fully away, but as I was leaving many were still very wet. I'm quitting anyway for a new job I found recently, but I don't know my start date so…

What percentage of your pre-tax income are you currently saving?

Title. Budgeting experts recommend at least 20% but I’m curious how realistic that actually is in this shitsho- I mean economy.

I hate the US healthcare system.

Despite here in the US you pay taxes heavily (prob one of the highest in the whole world) and yet still no free health care compared to other countries who pay either the same or less taxes a year and have FREE health care for everyone. Not only that, you then pay premium prices on Insurance in which doesn’t cover all the cost of your medical bills. And you are screwed even more if you are born with medical conditions or are hit with a medical emergency / diagnosis then consider yourself in financial ruin (unless you are rich). I have medical conditions which the cost of the yearly of its procedures that I have to do drains about 10-15% of my yearly income (and I don’t do much higher than the supposed “living wage”) Also that I pay my “portion” of the bill, then like 3 months later I…

Not My Problem

After being bypassed for a supervisor position 10 years ago, in favor of a less senior and less qualified man, said supervisor transferred to our office in FL taking a demotion into a nonsupervisory position to do so because he wanted to move to FL. I was asked by colleagues if I intended to apply. My answer was I become eligible to retire in 2 1/2 years, any increase in pay isn't worth it at this stage of the game (they use the high three years of salary for pension calculations purpose), I'd go from union to salaried with zero protection, and I can do my job in my sleep. I'm trying to have less stress in my life, not add to it, or add supervisory duties and do my job as well. The salty party of me said to myself, 10 years ago I would have been interested and…
