As a medical assistant working in a plastic surgery PLLC, my responsibilities go beyond the typical duties of a medical assistant. I work closely with the plastic surgeon and other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the practice. On days I work with the owner of the practice she has me and another worker recycle her old trash, and when I say recycle it's not a typical recycling duty, it's separating everything apart from each other from hard plastic, soft plastic, paper (which includes dirty used tissues and paper towels), and aluminum, all in separate bags. She has me and the other worker recycle moldy things left in her fridges from months to years old to clean and recycle everything. that's not even all. She has me and the other worker travel from Babylon to the Hamptons which is an hour commute without any travel time pay or…

Check out this bullshit:
I can handle getting my clothes splattered with bacon fat and shrimp juice all day, but not if the people I'm doing it for are going to complain about it. I didn't want to be in the “genteel” part of the store anyway. Y'all were the ones who insisted that everyone be cross-trained as cashiers.
Air Canada, how is this legal?
Is this normal or just a USA thing?
My boss and his mafia practices
I work at this small slate roofer company and today i had to call in sick. I went through the normal procedure expecting a normal sick status and everyone gets on with their day. Except my boss called me and said not to fuck with him because he didn't believe I'm actually sick. He also threatened that if he finds out I wasn't actually sick he'd take everything from me and ruin my life because “he's not one to be fucked with”. This is a company run by a boss. Not a bunch of freelancers who can get away with everything. My boss saying this kind of scared me and pissed me off at the same time. Should I just quit? The pay is extremely good though.
This isn't anything major, but did bug me. I work in relocation and I do the home searches for 90% of our clients. We get people from all around the world and I always try to be aware of who I am speaking to and their culture. For example, with high status jobs from e.g America, I am very direct and professional as they see junior in my title and will bring in their HR if I slip up in any way. Then we have young PhD students, and depending on where they are from, are very casual. Sending smilies/emojis in their emails and abbreviations etc, so I do the same, e.g “You got the apartment!! 🙂 Congrats, I will be drawing up the lease agreement today; thank you!” This isn't any secret and my manager has known about this and has not had a problem. Moving to a new…
