LA Fitness – No Real Shock
I have dealt with them before. Applied for a position with them over a year ago. Still waiting to hear back from them telling me I did not get the job because I know they would never ghost anyone. So no shock they did this to this person! That is how the operate! $2500/month – eh, no!
Death of this nation
I'll be completely straight when I say I come from a hard conservative household, but with me getting out of college and understanding the working world and growing my views alot more, I understand just how flawed things are by observing things from a political standpoint. I can't even have decent conversations with my parents anymore about the job market, because its like talking to someone who is living in the matrix. All they listen to is mainstream news sources and literally cannot comprehend that it isnt fucking people on the opposite side to them that are killing this country. Granted politics in general is destroying this country, but thats why im saying people need to take an objective look at this situation we are in. They still say “all you need is experience and to work hard” and eventually youll make it too success. Since thats all they were…
Context: my girlfriend works for a streaming network/communications company based in Florida. She started working for them a year ago out of college after she graduated with her MBA. She was working as a producer for one of their shows which was geared towards youth between the ages of 13 and 23. Not only was she a producer, but she was also the face of the program and directed most of your contact. She was only getting paid $20 an hour which is definitely low, however, she was willing to accept this because she thought it would lead towards a better role in the industry she wanted to be in down the line. Fast forward to about four days ago. She goes into her raise meeting with everything that she has accomplished with the company. She only asked for five dollars an hour more than she was currently making. They…
Fuck you, Benioff. Our family has never been more relaxed and balanced since 3 hours of commuting became only a 1 day a week thing. Between this and giving execs 90k$ gifts and slashing bonuses. Love the Ohana feeling.
Forced to take an unpaid lunch break?
I just left a 9-5 job, and started my first week at a new job with much better pay. However, I was informed, rather agressively, that my request to continue working an 8 hour day would not only be denied, but was also “illegal.” They want me to take an hour unpaid lunch, but said they may be flexible with a half hour lunch. In all my previous roles, I had never had unpaid lunch and I was out the door after 8 hours. I explained that I have many personal reasons for needing to cap my day at 8 hours (I'm a part-time grad student, I have an anxious pet at home, I carpool with someone and need to be considerate of their time, work-life balance, mental health, etc.). They did not care and continued to tell me that my previous place of employment had broken the law. Oh…
Red lights or red flags?
I just started a new job a couple weeks ago, I had showed up on time everyday day so far. When I went to work today I hit basicly every red light on the way into work which made me 3 minutes late. I didn't think it much of an issue but my boss made it a point to come over to me and point out that I was 3 minutes late and asked me to work 3 more minutes before going on break when I took it. I've never had a boss or company for that matter be so strict that 3 minutes would obviously break their work flow.
Last Saturday I was talking to the kitchen staff at my workplace, and they were lamenting how they only get $15 an hour ( despite one of them being there 3 years ), and how housekeeping has it even worse at $13.50 an hour. I said “Fucking what? I was hired at $20 an hour just three months ago ( I'm in maintenance ). You're getting screwed.” Apparently that conversation made it all the way to my supervisor who talked to me this morning about it. I then learned that I make more than pretty much everyone except the department heads…which I am not one myself. He then asked me not to talk about it again with anyone. I know that's illegal, so I agreed only to avoid getting needled more about it. He also said he “handled it”, but I'm curious as to what he meant by that. I…
I would rather starve..
This is just disgusting. The Sheriff alone makes $165,000 a year and they’re asking for volunteers to run their administration office!?
