As the title reads, about two moths ago I realized I wasn’t cut out for my position of 4 months and it was making me extremely stressed. I told my boss that I think I need more experience before being able to do this job to the best of my ability. He pretty much begged me to stay and gave me an easier work load. Two months later, he calls me and says that he expected more out of me given my background and it seemed like he was almost saying I lied about my skill level (I’ve been very blunt from the jump.) He then followed up with saying my supervisor says I haven’t gotten much better and make a lot of mistakes. I start to question if I’m being fired and he just starts acting like those were perfectly normal things to say, and why would I be…

Just let that sink in

Now the owner wants us all back in office immediately, for no reason at all. The entire department willingly works extra hours at home, with a smile. Now we all have to sit in traffic for hours, cut production by a good 50% and force feed company culture til it makes us want to quit or die. Why is management so ridiculous? Make it make sense!?
I started a job a year and a half ago. I quickly found out that a large portion of the staff had quit/retired in the 6 months leading up to my hire due to unrealistic deadlines and overwork. Company could not train incoming employees when I started, so it took 3-4 months to train myself and others. The following 6 months had me working with a team of 5 on a large number of deliverables. I quickly realized that I was being underpaid as I wasn’t doing any work in my job description. I asked for a moderate pay raise one the 1 year mark citing increased responsibility and the drastic change in job requirements. I was asked to wait 4 more months. At 4 months I received the standard cost of living increase and told there wasn’t enough money in the budget for a raise because upper management didn’t…
Wealth disparity
I don't even know where to begin. Maybe this will open some eyes towards just how much owners of companies make compared to workers. I worked at a small utility that was roughly 10 employees as a designer contractor that payed me roughly $60000/yr in a more expensive part of the country where that barely covered rent. I was happy doing this but time and time again as I got my work done in perfect manner, I was thanked and assigned more work. Being sick of this as well as quarterly $200 bonuses I did some research on our contracts and how much the company was charging for the work that myself and fellow employees were doing. The base rate was $40/hr for “junior designers” as well as an up front contract usually equating from anywhere to $3000-$30000 as a flat fee depending on the size and complexity and what…
