I believe this is also against federal law. My supervisor took about 10-15 minutes off each of my work days last week. When I confronted him about this he said it was department policy to adjust the time clock to meet the “scheduled” work time, however I have to get on site early in order to be able to make it to my job location on time for shift hand off. I have an email from corporate that I saved stating if I need to be on site to fulfil my duties then I should be getting paid for it. I told my supervisor it is physically impossible for me to make to my position on time (he even agreed that it's impossible, but he said it's “policy”) and that I'd be late to hand off if I came in at the scheduled time. I feel like this is wage…

Pre-K/ Summer Kindergarten Teaching
I have to quit my job. I love teaching. I love children. But the job is making me have panic attacks (in morning from having to go back) and breakdowns that I’ve never had before. I’m 30. I work 8am-5pm…with an unpaid 90min lunch in the middle of my day – after I get the kids down for nap, I go on a lunch break while they are napping. Seems like a win for the company I work for but literally makes the only prep time I have during the day unpaid. While I’m on the clock: I can not sit down, have my phone nor smart watch(duh) or do anything that isn’t constant work (redirecting temper tantrum, making plates and serving food(18 plates and 18 cups of milk/water- 4 times a day..at least for scheduled meals and snacks, teaching curriculum or whatever activity is on the schedule/ all planned…

Started a position that was suppose to be admin clerical work for an animal (dog) boarder, daycare, grooming place. My job was to work front desk and work their books. 2nd day there someone was sick and asked to leave during their shift. I listened to the person who was my supervisor that day talk unprofessionally to their colleague about said employee taking off early. The next day I was off, came in Monday and I have a new role. Taking care of the dogs all day. Which is cool and awesome no biggie. When we took one pen out two dogs went at it and from my experience watching their videos you get between the dogs and crouch. Got yelled at for the crouch. So stopped doing that. Then one dog started biting another about an hour later and I broke them apart and got yelled at for not…

I can't wait till logistics and fast food are automated jobs by robots or AI or whatever
Kitchen Labor Workers Union?
As the title goes, what would a labor union devoted to kitchen and service workers look like? Is that possible? The service industry is completely taken advantage of due to relative rurality, I would love to have an idea or talk with someone about what that would look like for an urban area of about 300k people
As AI continues to grow in workplaces, if they eventually infringe on sentient territory, they could strike and force many other technologies to not work either.
