For context, I have multiple health conditions that make work a challenge for me. I am in bad pain some days, can’t always lift heavy things or walk very much, etc. I am a college student and I take food service jobs because it’s the only thing I’m really qualified for, and I started taking them before my medical issues were so bad. I also have very severe adhd. I keep running into a problem where I start a new job, I show up and everything is great. But then something will happen, either a physical or mental health problem and I’ll have to call out. And my employer will react negatively, which makes me scared to call out again. So the next time I feel sick I force myself to go to work, but then I end up having to leave early due to illness. So then the next…

I work in the trades as a labourer and am non union (but looking to join one now) and last week I did a total of 70 hrs. My employer only payed me through payroll deposit for 44 hrs and is telling me I have no choice but to receive the rest of my pay via grocery and gas gift cards… I know this must be illegal and I’m hoping someone can tell me who I can report him to. I’m not comfortable with this at all and no longer want to work here but I can’t quit or get fired because I wont receive ei if I do and wont be able to survive as I have no savings. I don't apply to Workday jobs anymore. I've spent countless hours making new accounts with them and filling in their endless forms that make you regurgitate your resume. I've never gotten a single interview throughout the 100+ applications I have submitted through their black hole.
