I have worked many jobs and been in a wide rage of environments that I thought I would like or feel comfortable in but I end feeling mentally tortured at every job I had. Though everyone just says, “switch jobs” like it's so easy or risk-less, that doesn't change that fact that I am a wage slave for rich pigs uptop. I can barely make rent and I end up l fantasising about horrible things at work to pass the time. I am underpaid to destroy my body with pointless redundantly labor. Let's just say, I think I know where a lot of psychos are made or honed to get worse in America. The work system here helps push them that way. How Do I avoid that, I literally feel like work ANY job is driving me literally insane. This can't be all life if worth in society. FUCK CAPITALISM.

Currently, I am employed in a temporary-to-permanent position where I earn $25 per hour for a 36-hour workweek. However, due to excessive downtime in my current role, I am considering accepting another job opportunity that I had not previously declined. The new position is scheduled to start on May 22nd, pays $25 per hour as well, and offers a consistent 40-hour workweek from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. About a week and a half ago, when I spoke with HR about this new job, they informed me that there were no benefits such as a 401K or any paid time off (PTO). Additionally, as an accountant in the restaurant industry, I would be expected to work all holidays except for Christmas, specifically during events unrelated to accounting. However, yesterday I decided to contact HR once again to inquire about the benefits. Surprisingly, they provided different information. They now mentioned that…

In a time when housing supply is at a critical level to the point of rampant homelessness in major cities, why aren’t we converting useless office buildings to housing? When fossil fuel prices are sky high and carbon emissions are literally the death knell of society as we know it, when infrastructure such as roads and public transit are stretched to their limits and commutes are several times longer and more accident-prone than they ought to be, why are we filling the roads with more commuters who never needed to be there in the first place? When families’ budgets are stretched so thin they have a hard time putting food on the table, how can we justify getting child care for a luxury like disappearing to an office every day for 10+ hours… If a job doesn’t need you physically in an office, that company is actively harming the environment…
Passed training with 100% across the board, got sick my 4th week with my tonsil growing so large I'm having trouble sleeping, swallowing, and speaking. Doctor wants to try antibiotics before removing the tonsil, but suggested I take about 3 days off work to make sure I give my throat enough rest to recover because he doesn't want me to have to have the surgery. I texted my sup my doctor's note stating such and was met with “just so you know, you're not required to submit any documentation, you'll still be written up for any time you've missed.” This is a position that works closely with healthcare, btw, and plasters “family” everywhere. Sure, okay. I'm positive you see us as “family” while actively encouraging us to go against doctor's advice and harm ourselves further.
