It's not all positive but this article gave me great cause for hope. I like how it's written from the perspective of salty employers
Hello not sure if this is the right place for this but I’m feeling a bit demoralized and was hoping to get some insight. I’ve only ever worked full time and had completely open availability. Currently I’m looking for a part-time job and only have availability to work open-close two week days a week. I’m posting here because I’m getting burned out applying and going to interviews for job postings that are too vague just listed as part-time. I stressed through Mother’s Day for an interview this morning. Got up early printed off a resume with the last of my printers ink and got myself to the interview. Spend 15min reading through the job description and waiting for the interviewer to come. She sits down looks at my availability and immediately says the position is for Mon-Fri 8-12. I told her this would not work as I have child care…
Havent received last paycheck
Helloooo! I quit my last job over text (I had COVID so I couldn’t do in person) but I was owed a paycheck. While my point of contact was already terrible at responding to texts, she's completely gone MIA when it came to responding to my quitting text and about mailing my last check. A few days later, I texted again asking for a follow up on the status of my check and if they’d received my message, no answer; I tried calling, no answer. I know I have a right to my check but how do I move forward from here? I tried calling again right now but still nothing; it’s been 6 business days. I want to call her through maybe someone elses phone to see if she answers but how do you recommend I move forward from here? *i was on a probationary term so I had…
You’re not working hard enough
Last summer I started in a new position at a company I've been with for 15 years. I'm very lucky that it is 100% remote and was even luckier that the workload was such that I was busy, but not so busy that I couldn't take my time and do the job relatively without stress. That changed today. My supervisors, in their infinite wisdom, decided that people didn't have enough work to do so they transferred 4 people to a different department that didn't really need them. They literally said it was because we didn't have a large enough workload and they wanted to redistribute everything across fewer people.
This isn’t typically when I get ghosted
Went through two interviews with this company so far, made it to scheduling the final interview only for multiple people to ghost me when trying to follow up. I emailed and called the recruiter, and emailed the person who conducted the second interview, with no reply from anyone. Beyond frustrating. I hate my current company so much and want out.

Boss Slighted Me in a Meeting
When describing someone they were considering hiring, my boss devolved into a tangent on how I was not the first choice for my position. Someone was poised to get it instead apparently and they were the perfect candidate and that all of the higher ups loved them for it. The only reason it didn’t work out is because of their schedule. This occurred in a meeting of my peers and I was completely taken aback. I am an extremely hard worker and put 100% of myself into what I do. I feel extremely under appreciated and demotivated now. Fuck work.
Umm red flag
