In March of this year (over 8 weeks ago now), I acquired a new job. Turned in my two weeks, they told me to go packing that very day. Fine. I left and was without pay for two weeks until my new job started. It all happened so fast it made my head spin. On a Monday morning I turned in notice, was told to leave, lost VPN access around 10:00 AM. That was it. The next day was Tuesday and there was a FedEx document delivered to my house with my separation information, continuation of benefits information, etc. No word from anyone just. Get out. Gone. Wednesday morning I wiped the company computer — I didn’t want to have their proprietary information in my possession nor did I want any appearance of wrongdoing. Fast forward 8 weeks and today I received an email from an admin at the company,…
Management sent this email to staff following a 30-minute staff meeting wherein the owner – NOT the manager, who hid in her office watching the meeting on camera – dismissed a series of complaints by employees. Honorable mention to her later stating in the email that if morale doesn't improve, our wages would be cut, and for the owner calling us “boring” for having no follow-up comments after he talked at us for 30 minutes about how shit we are.
I feel really sad for you guys, when people in Europe don't all realize how horrible your work culture is. When I think that I have people in my company who complain that we only have 11 weeks of holidays per year… in short I send you all my thoughts, courage to you.
