I just started my first week at a call center job, since I physically can't do my old job. Yesterday, they suddenly threw in that I was going to have to “rent” the headphones that I would have to have in order to do me job, which was NEVER mentioned before. Lovely.

He is genuinely an awful person but he has gotten so many people fired and / or bullied them into quitting because the higher ups love him. Because of this everyone has been too scared to complain but we finally all decided to do it. We're hoping that if we compile everything and all hand it in together he can't target us all. Wish us luck 🤞
we need to fight against landlords
this is absurd you should not have to fear for your home being taken away from you
Impossible to make ends meet!
For background: My pregnant wife (28F) has been out of work for the last 8 months after getting fired from her nursing job and I am not currently employed (trying to start a career as a famous twitch streamer). My wife has been through several rounds of interviews but can’t seem to get hired, which is causing a serious strain in our relationship. She is on unemployment benefits which brings in ~$1650/month for us. Most of that money goes to paying rent and paying down the cc debt I accumulated purchasing streaming equipment for my twitch career. As of right now, I do not have any subs or donors on twitch but I’m hoping to start making $250-$400/month while streaming. Every month, it seems like we fall into deeper and deeper debt with no end in sight. She complains everyday that I need to find a “real job” and is…

He is in a constant revolving door of employees and leads. I can hear him making calls: He will call a business unsolicited. Insist “would you let me finish!” during this long drawn out pitch. Then if they don't want his business he almost always follows up with “You know what bud, I don't need your little fuckin [insert average business]. i mayD 1.2 mileeUN laZT YeeR (he didn't).” Then he shouts insults until they hang up. He brags about not paying his taxes, “I'm poor, ON PAPER”. doing things “under the table” Or against code that “save (him) a few bucks”. He got in an accident in his truck and tried to change his policy rates before it was reported. So now hes under some kind of investigation. Before this he was a trucker and he was sued or something “when they took my truck”. But he won't elaborate…
The joke’s on him because I already booked my one-way ticket to Europe for January 3rd, 2024 so I won’t be in the States to show up for work, but this just rubbed me the wrong way because he didn’t ask or consult me on this, just assumed that I plan on spending the next two and a half years with the company when I hadn’t made any such promise during my hiring interviews with anyone and explicitly stated that I eventually plan on permanently relocating abroad. Bottom line is, I disliked this guy even during my hiring process (I kid you not, he’s like Michael Scott — but so much cringier and without the funny charm), because he made fun of me for the jobs I’ve worked in the past even though I am an immigrant in America and when I first arrived in this country, no one would…
