Need a month long vacation asap
Quitting after a month.
When I applied to get a job as a dementia care giver I didn’t expect it to be so unrewarding, tiring, and honestly awful. In the span of a month and a half I’ve not only been attacked like four times by residents ((the first guy was maybe 50-60 and had quite some strength so it was very scary)) I’ve ruined my social life and mental health because of long night shifts back to back, and it’s just gotten worse. Morning shift has called me an idiot, stupid, and even slurs. My manager simply said that “some people get offended by that word and then some don’t” and it was left at that. I get 19 an hour, which in my area is the same pay as pandas express. I admit the pay is better then what I was getting before but I work alone at night, I have 12…
Petty walk out due to petty boss
Gave my job almost four weeks notice. Last night was my last shift. Stopped to tell like three people bye, the few people I cared about enough to say bye to. Saw the plant manager hovering around me the whole time. Just before lunch I was told one of the people I said bye to got in trouble for talking too much. Confirmed it was because I took about one whole minute to say bye. Boss wouldn't say anything to me about it. Would have been an entirely different story at that point. Or if the people who he was telling off weren't some of the hardest working people in that place. But yeah, at that point fuck it. The last three hours just aren't worth it. Leaving on good terms just isn't worth it.
I won’t go fully into detail. Basically, f**k employers and all your rules. When ya break 1 stupid tiny rule, they go apes**t at you cause they‘re all high and mighty. Then they guilt trip you when you resign. B**ch, you’re literally just gonna hire the next person who applies. Stop crying. “We care about our workers” lmao sure you do. Just a sugarcoated version of ”We only care about our reputation and profits of this company. Who was that guy who recently resigned? Forgot their name already”. Quote I hated the most: “I’m not paying you to talk with colleagues”. Like bruh, take that stick out of your a**. The day is hella slow and nothing to do, so you engage in chat and 1 minute later you’re told off like a f**king kid in primary school.
I work in an office in Europe. A coworker of mine let’s call him Martin was the most respectful, funniest and happiest person I’ve ever met. He never complained when he got extra work and always had a smile on his face. Our manager let’s call him Bob was the opposite of Martin. His intention were always to humiliate and take advantage of people. He tried to break Martin so many times with his passive aggressiveness and his toxic attitude but never was successful. Once Martin wanted to leave early to visit his mother in hospital who suffered from cancer. But Bob gave Martin extra work with the reason that his mother’s going do die anyways and that he has more important things to do. Martin turned around and gave Bob the hardest slap on the face I’ve ever seen one can give. 6 people have witnessed the slap including…
Sharpen the damn pitchforks!
Salary see-saw
Was applying for a job today and asked about job description, was told that since it's a new company, then “doing a little bit of everything”. When asked about the salary, the interviewer said that salary will be discussed with candidates who will go further, according to their experience and skills. I asked about the range and the interviewer was visibly annoyed, instead trying to make me give out a number, which I flat out refused, considering the way the conversation was going. It's that bad, huh?
I hate this kind of co-worker
Do you also have the kind of co-worker who is so obsessed with doing EVERYTHING by the rules out of sheer prinicple? I work at a school, and for once, all kids will be leaving by 2.45 pm instead of 5 pm. I talked to my my two co-workers and suggested that we could go home earlier now that there was an opportunity to do so. One of my co-workers said we have everything under control and that it shouldn't be a problem whereas the other one said “Now that all kids are gone, there are many things we need to do”… Like… we have nothing that needs to be done, so why being like this? She works 75% while I work full time, so… maybe I need this more than her?
