Slavery

I’m not waiting for a natural or unnatural disaster to relieve me of inhumane labor demands upheld by every subordinate who has been brainwashed to replicate slaver dispositions towards individual/group unwillingness to participate in such labor/economic systems. I want to work, I don’t want to be a slave against the threat of exile, arrest, or death. I deserve to rest, recover, play, explore, and help others.

How many jobs have you had??

I’m 53 and since I was 24 I’ve had three different jobs working for the “man”. First job 12 years, second 9 years, current 8 years. Started out making $23,600 in 1994. Now make $190,000. Have only $700,000 saved and Pitiful!!! Work sucks and have never had more that one week off in 30 years. Corporate sucks! People I went to college with who slept drunk on the floor who failed out are making much more. Don’t by the hype you need a college degree. Be good at sales or learn a trade where you earn your own earnings, or create your own company. You gotta be smart though and unique! Don’t end up like me at 53!!

To tired to work looking for advice on my lack of work mentality

Im resentful of the pandemic. I finished my degree in mediadesign during that time. My dream has been to be a twitch streamer and sell art(digital) online. I have worked before I started studying. However, now the pressure is really getting to me. I feel really nervous around classes (2e year ba communication) and my future working. I am afraid of not finding or doing a job that can bring in enough money. I want to enjoy my life, but I feel like work or not know what kind of work I can do is really ruining my chanse of feeling oke with my life. Sometimes I feel like its not worth it. Also part of it is I cant do too much so a job and doing something timeconsuming I like is not possible to go togheter so its one or the other. I need a focus. So I…

After years of ignoring us, management finally listened.

For the past three years, I've worked in a smelter. During that time, my company has had incredibly high turnover. Two years ago they started doing exit interviews with hourly employees, instead of just salary. Everyone gave the sand reasons: the pay isn't high enough, and the supervisors are terrible. Upper management didn't change anything for two years. Finally, over the past month, the owner cleared out the C-suite and fired 20 supervisors. Then, this week, they announced plantwide raises to bring us in line with other companies nearby. This honestly feels like such a win after years of begging for money.

Jersey mikes “day of giving”

I work at jersey mikes subs. Once a year, they give all revenues to charity. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for helping the less fortunate. But it just feels a little fucked up to brag about giving all revenues to charity for one day out of the year when your hard working employees don’t make enough to live off of. There would be no day off giving without employees busting their ass everyday of the year for $10/hr. Feels a bit disingenuous. Just saying. It feels very much like a PR move and nothing more. Like, “look at us! We care about charity. Spend your money here!” While their best employees literally cannot afford to live

Lectured at an Interview

Hey everyone, this is my first post here so please bear with me. I (38m) have been working in my field for 10 years. In that time I've gained a wide array of experience, but haven't finished a degree nor do I hold any active certifications pertaining to my field. Needless to say, the majority of employment opportunities available to me are considered to be “entry level” and the pay is on par with what one would expect from that level of role. In early '22 I finally hit something of a break. I was hired for a role that is largely the same as my previous ones, however includes a few more advanced technical aspects and thus pays approximately 25% more than one been able to find in the past. Despite that, the pay I was given was at the bottom of the range being offered for the role;…
