Tl;dr: 2 of my coworkers and I requested a weekend off. Boss said this was fine. Boss then fired the person who would've covered quite a few of the shifts, leaving a hole in the schedule. Boss wants us to “figure it out” cause he “gave up” on the schedule. Non-talking work from home jobs?
I work in a fraud department and I'm constantly on the phone taking 100+ calls a day. It's so mentally exhausting I want to crawl into a dark cave at the end of the day. We don't even have the time to breathe or drink water in between calls usually. The thing is, work from home works best for my lifestyle but I cannot find anything that isn't customer service based. Does anyone have any tips on what kinds of jobs I could apply for that require no, or very little speaking to anyone? Maybe one with a more flexible schedule as well. Right now I am a slave to the time clock as we are required to document every second off the phones (bathrooms breaks, personal phones calls, a WATER BREAK). Thanks so much in advance.

Tires of working in human services field
Rant here. I love working in a non profit environment but can't work in a direct service position anymore. I am tired of my job performance being tied to factors out of my control. I am a case manager and my job is to connect people to services. If a participant actively ignores my numerous attempts to contact them it is still my fault if they are not making progress. I document all attempts to contact but it does not matter. I was told that all that matters when it comes to grants is the numbers and the data.

Someone complained about me to management for not announcing to the world when I go on my break??? And management agreed with them enough to bring it to my attention instead of telling them to stfu. The thing is: No one tells me anything about anything including when THEY go on break. Most days, I work right next to my supervisor and I don’t tell her I’m going on my break either. I KNOW she isn’t the one complaining about me. When my supervisor isn’t there, I usually make a big show of leaving so it’s obvious I’m going on my break. Eg. I wiggle my car keys, grab my water bottle and bag etc looool. ONE DAY I’m like wtf why am I doing all this bs when they don’t extend any curtesy to me??
