I just got fired from my job yesterday, no reason given, completely out of the blue. I cannot wrap my head around the fact that I got fired in the last 5 minutes of my shift with no explanation or closure. And like a movie I get a call from one of my job prospects while packing my desk telling me that they’re not going to hire me for the role. :/
This is one of the nuggets I dropped in an interview today and honestly, this was the most comfortable I've ever been in an interview. This was my response when I was asked “why are you looking to leave your current job” and I basically said “I'm not” followed by the title. I've always maintained that honesty is the best policy even in situations where it reflects poorly on you, and in fact especially in those situations because that's when you build trust. Other things I said which probably would have my old managers facepalming were, when asked if I'm just going to try and get a new job in a year after being hired, “that depends on you guys”, as in what are you willing to do to keep me around? I was waiting in line at wendys on the weekend and two middle aged men in front of me discussing how the one guys tenant just bought a new car and how it means they are charging him too little for rent if he can afford a new car. Then they starting talking about how much they could raise his rent next year and different ways to justify it.
My HR already approved it but my boss is clearly so bothered and keeps saying it’s unfair to the others on my team. The other people who have sent me nothing but encouraging patient messages about taking care of my health. I work in a very loud studio loft with music, talking, laughing, dogs, temperatures between 60 and 83, flashing lights etc. I am not on the studio photo team. I do something involving online content and I can do my entire job from home. I have CPTSD and the constant stress of being overstimulated was debilitating physically, mentally and on my performance.
