I started working as a cleaner for a major cleaning company in my city. I say major, because there are more than twenty and this one holds more stakes because they accept any job under any circumstances, they even accept when people ask to clean the garage area under their windows (even if it’s for free). You can only imagine how this looks for workers. A guy who started working when I did was already duped to work not only one shift, but TWO full shifts. Today he worked whole morning, and he spent whole afternoon cleaning the meat factory. Im already looking for another job in my area already.After helping my kitchen managers cover their manager shifts as a shift lead, they decided to cut a lot of hours especially mine the week after. They love to give out the excuse that it is “SlOw sEasOn” but want to cut labor instead of food cost and such. And worst yet they just brought someone in for training as a dishwasher. My manager told me that i have 5 shifts already and needed to cut one of my days off for next week. I was truly pissed and upset because my bills aren’t in slow season, THEY ARE DUE EVERY MONTH AND I WILL NOT KEEP THEM BACK BECAUSE OF IT! At my job, we've started a new service where we come to the customers instead of them coming to us, and we get paid by the manufacturer (this is a dealer) for each ride we do. Well, the GM just told my co worker that the owners of the dealership are just loving the money we're making. I get the feeling I'm gonna get stiffed if there's a bonus in order. I swear everyone else is getting something out of it, because everyone just loves all this money the dealer is getting, and they promote the crap out of this service, doesn't matter the time of day. I've had to stay past closing time to get these cars back to the customers. But that's not what bothers me. I’m a lowly peasant in one of those big companies that announced they were doing massive layoffs. To my knowledge, the building I work at has avoided this, but I digress. There have always been asshole managers that work in my area, but they usually left me alone because they know that I know what I’m doing. Lately though, this has changed. Since the layoffs have started it seems that all managers have been a hardass. Managers barely do any work besides paperwork/meetings before and after the shift and IMO the only actual work they do is tell people where to go and then yell at them for not going fast enough (to make it look like they are actually doing something). So I posted before that I got denied for a job promotion. There were reasons, but big reason was that I didn't have experience in a particular program (that's literally just a Microsoft product but with more features). Today, I got an mass sent email asking us if we were comfortable with that same program because they're looking to resource us to projects. Things have happened big time in our company and they're scrambling to put people in places. When I saw the program mentioned (and only mentioned), I INSTANTLY knew. “This is that exact job I got denied for. They're going to put anybody in this job now, at least for six months.” These assholes put me and others through a whole song and dance, made us wait months to hear a rejection, find out they hired an outside person… And NOW it turns out ANYONE can do the…

I already feel guilty. I’m a manager for a small group home. On call 24/7. Shit pay. Two staff down for unknown amount of time. No one in the company will work at the house because of violent behaviors (I get that but bad news for me). This means 7 days a week for me and some doubles thrown in. I feel like I’m going to mentally break because it’s just too much responsibility. I have a new job lined up that I’ll start at the end of the May. I really want to just quit my current job and float on my remaining pay until I start. I feel bad leaving the remaining staff in a bad spot. Ughhhhhhhhh Society

Ok, I work at a daycare and at this point I'm wondering if I'll find a daycare that follows all of their policies for everyone. Children and staff, no exceptions, and no favoritism… every child in my classroom is sick. Coughing and terrible runny noses with yellow or green snot… it's in the policy that children that have any cold symptoms can't come into the center until they have been to the doctor and have a doctor's note… but that doesn't happen… but then the staff gets sick and we are forced to go to the doctor and can't come back to work without a note.
