My company threw an awards ceremony for itself, where they rewarded all the top sales and leadership while the other departments just watched!

Long time lurker first time poster but damn I had to share. I work somewhere as in media but it’s for a business focused on sales. For the second year they held an “award” ceremony where all the bosses kids got awards and the top sales and department managers.. the regular hard working understaffed auxiliary departments watched as they all patted themselves on the back with record numbers while we don’t even receive a cost of living inflation raise. It’s so self congratulatory it makes me sick. I’m in the media department with one other person and our boss that doesn’t do what we do won the award… great for morale Anyone relate to this!? They think their culture is so good but it’s only good for the sales team and leadership..

best place for employer’s profit data?

I work for a publicly traded company that is not doing bonuses for “most people” this year to “brace for the recession”. meanwhile we're experiencing record volume… so for me this naturally does not make sense. seeing as this is a publicly traded company, is there somewhere I can get recent profit statements or something? the things I'm googling are only showing public data up through 2019. is there some sort of pay to play site that has current info for investors?

A year and a half of hard work and two promotions – still making the same hourly rate as day 1

I work at an electronics repair workshop (mostly smartphones like the iPhone 14 and the Samsung Galaxy S22/23) that is controlled by a massive insurance corporation. The disconnect between workers and CEOs, EVPs, etc is unreal. I’ve been there for a year and a half – our quota is 6 devices repaired per day. I typically got 9 on average done while my peers only had around 2-3. Asked for a raise 6 months in and got denied because I hadn’t been there for a year. After one year, I was denied again because they supposedly only give out raises in July and my 1 year anniversary was in October. Got a double promotion from repair technician I to III. It didn’t come with a raise at all, was told I would get it this July. I was just told yesterday that a new EVP was hired and would be…

I want to quit, I can quit, but for some reason I can’t get the energy to do it

My job is killing me by inches. It’s got me so stressed and upset, every day is some new crisis. I’ve been yelled at for things I have no control over and when I took a vacation I came back to find a pile of undone work on my desk because apparently if I’m not there this shit just won’t get done. At the same time, I am lucky in that I’ve ended up with a financial windfall that would allow me to quit point blank. I could walk out the door whenever I want to and be safe for as long as it took to find a better job, or even pursue my own project that I’ve been working on when work hadn’t sucked all my soul out for the day. But here’s the fucking kicker; as much as I want to and can leave, I find myself stalling.…

Shitty “Pity City” Boss Gets Away w/her ideas because people still OK w/CEO to average worker massive disparity

“Though CEOs make around 300 times the average employee, only about a third of the rank-and-file polled by Gartner thought the wage disparity was unfair.” https://www.latimes.com/business/story/2023-04-19/millerknoll-ceos-rant-bonuses-put-executives-multi-million-pay-in-focus How do you ever get change with 2/3 of people polled thinking a 300:1 ratio is no problem.

Our “team meetings”

At my old job we had monthly team meetings where my manager printed off a document with bullet points of everything someone did wrong in that month, right down to stuff such as “we've had to remove the coffee machine in the break room because it's causing a sense of divide with the people downstairs who aren't allowed one in their break room”
