So I found out February my company would not be continuing my contract for the next school year. I live and work in Tokyo and the school year goes April to March. Today I got my last paycheck that covers March 16-31. It was only about 29,000yen ($280). When I asked why it was so low they said it was from the unpaid days i took off. I only took off 3 max. I'm waiting to get my alst paystub in the mail but wtf. I cant pay my rent, internet, or phone.

I’m going to try and articulate this but I struggle with that so bear with me here please. Basically I am working 4/12s concurrently and since that comes to 48 hours in 4 days assumed I would be paid over time right? Wrong! I was informed that they will line up to fall on the day the pay period Starts over meaning half on this check half on next check and of course not paying ot. I’m sure this is a legal loophole companies use but it just seems to so grossly take advantage of employees.

Not trying to give American corporations any ideas, but I feel very heavily that they are going to eventually realize they could get away with and save a whole lot of money by not having any lower/middle management. The increase of work at home positions means supervisors have less and less to do, so why are they still being paid? But, Counterpoint. When it eventually happens, the workforce will be split between high managers and workers, the wage disparity will increase tenfold, and each and every one of us will become a slave to the government or super corporation. I really wish I could get people to stand up, but for every one I happen to find their are a hundred more trying to sleep and snore so loudly I can’t be heard.

So if you interview for a long term temp position, should these be red flags? They fired the long term temp that you are replacing, they let her go because: A) She brought in some framed photos of her family to put on her desk at work. B) She was too chummy with everyone at work. They didn't want her to think she'd be there permanent and they felt her friendliness was a sign that she was gunning for a permanent job

So I've worked for the tech distribution company for 8 years. I was a supervisor for 5 years almost 6. I was the most tenured supervisor and I was good at my job. But after constant warnings about being burnt out snd not getting support on running the whole building for the last 2 years of being a supervisor I stepped down. Normally you would have 19 supervisors and 15 leads run the whole building per shift (AM ,PM) and they would have roughly 300 to 400 team members. I had myself and 35 team members as well as 145 temp agency team members. So I was very clear if I didn't get help I was stepping down.
