So, a little background. I make about $80k a year working in specialty finance. We do commercial/industrial/turnaround financing for companies who can't get conventional bank financing and have just exited or approaching bankruptcy that don't have a proven track record. For nearly two years I've been working 60/70/80 hours a week, with the only exceptions being holiday weeks or the time around Thanksgiving and Christmas when things slow down and we can catch up. Everything has been a drain on my sanity and I went from saying it's just a bad day, it will be better tomorrow to it's just a bad week, it will be better next week to it's just a bad month, it will be better next month to it's just a bad quarter, it will be better next quarter. Well, it's next quarter. How many times are we gonna kick this can down the road? A…
Whenever you meet someone who claims capitalism is a good system because “competition is what drives progress” be sure to educate them that innovation is what truly drives progress. Innovation can be motivated by competition or cooperation. It's just typically competitive innovation is more proactive and satisfies people's needs or wants before they see it, while cooperative innovation is more reactive and satisfies people's needs or wants as they happen. Our species did not form civilizations based on competing with each other, they formed groups and roamed as hunter gatherers. They cooperated to divide the labor into easier parts. The other problem with competition vs cooperation is that competition is destructive while cooperation is empowering. Competition forces you into conflict with others, while cooperation motivates you into understanding how you can both continue to grow. Competition breeds envy, while cooperation breeds happiness. The only reason that competition has beaten out…
The System
I believe everything we complain about from our shitty work places to our financial woes are all just symptoms of a criminal banking system. It 100% runs of exploitation and is just “ slavery with extra steps”. And weather it is called communism or capitalism, it is corrupt. Stop blaming everyone but those who run our monetary system. The federal reserve is any thing but federal. Banks private corporations and they bought all the politicians 2 world wars ago. I believe if we can make everyone aware of this then we can start generating real solutions. Love
i saw a tiktok with a woman from the US talking about how her body refuses to let her work, but things have still worked out. i can't find it now, but a lot of people commented with similar experiences, lots of “divine intervention”. im ready to give the hell up and see what happens if i trust
Like you can't even have a different letter saying something positive instead you just send us a generic rejection letter. Might as well not send anything at all. Lol… Yeah I accepted another job offer. Few days later We accepted another candidate that has a better skill set than you.
Anyone else call bullshit on this?
This is way too accurate
I need to vent, and I need some advice or suggestions from those with more experience than I on other “pro-worker” actions I could take as I leave. I feel like this is an AITA? but for work. This is also a warning to my fellow corporate/professional level/career employees who have “good” direct bosses who take good care of you: Corporate will, eventually, screw you over. Organize now, before it comes to that. I have a good-enough job with a decent company. Corporate is corporate, but my regional boss and direct boss are good people who keep their lowliest workers in mind all the time. I felt secure knowing they were on my team. My job is WFH, I have very little oversight, and am trusted with quite a lot of responsibility. I have work to get done on deadline so occasionally things get stressful, but by and large I…
