I have 6+ years of graphic design experience and 3 years of Front End Web Development experience with a portfolio that accurately showcases my own entire skill set which is deemed to be “impressive” by every company that sends me a fucking “While you have an impressive resume unfortunately, we won't be moving forward with your application. ” type of bullshit email. How is it that after filling out about 50+ job applications a day for the last 2 months (roughly 3,150 job applications for positions that I am qualified for) I have only ever received 2 interviews… HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN?! Statistically, there should be a lot more people willing to give me a damn interview. Especially when a small percentage of those I roles applied for were intern and junior level. Are all these jobs fucking fake or what?! I guess this is a clear enough sign of…

Stand up for yourself
This gaslighting response from my supervisor shows how little they care about me as a person, my ability to plan my life, or work other jobs. They took advantage of my commitment and dedication and stole my opportunity to be doing other work this weekend. I understand sometimes work doesn't go as planned, but they should have let me know when they found out. I have been reaching out since April 15 to stay in communication with them. I shouldn't have had to go hunting them down because I haven't heard anything. I wouldn't be allowed to do that to them, but they are completely comfortable doing it to me… I shouldn't have to point out that if they have set expectations with their employees they need to inform them when those expectations change. They should have taken responsibility for not communicating with me in a timely manner and costing…
The contract to hire position is offering $24 an hour for a 3-month period, with the possibility of being hired permanently based on performance. The work hours are 8-5 and the commute is 30 minutes. On the other hand, the full-time job offer provides $25 an hour, but does not offer 401k or PTO until after 1 year of employment. Given that it is in the restaurant industry, the job requires working all major holidays like Labor Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and New Years. Additionally, the commute is only 20 minutes and the work hours are 9-5:30. Learning that there are no benefits and having to work all major holidays during weekdays threw me off, as all of my previous office jobs have provided time off during major holidays. The contract to hire position, on the other hand, offers holidays off and since it is through a…
I just keep quitting….
3 years… the last three years, I leave a job if I’m uncomfortable. I don’t show up. Or tell ‘em I’m done. Just did it today again. Got another job interview in a hour…. Probably gonna take the offer but, what the fuck? I absolutely hate work. I wanna make passive income or work for myself like the real winners… maybe one day but for now, it antiwork. I’ll make ends meat regardless but I can’t slave away full time…
I am not sure if this is the right place for this post. But I currently work for a state based credit union, and there a several coworkers and myself that are not happy with our current hourly wages. We are thinking about as a group to renegotiate our wages. Thoughts on the subject? Any experiences? Just trying to get some feedback if this is something worth the attempt.
Isn’t this wonderful!
