I 24f, just got my masters in international relations with a focus in conflict studies. My end goal is war reporting, but right now I’m just looking for a customer service job to keep the bills payed. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry since I was 16, but can’t at the moment due to a dislocated elbow. I’ve been non stop passing out my resumes to front desk and administrative assistant jobs with no luck. I’ve also been applying to journalism outlets and think tanks. Of the many, many jobs I’ve applied for, I’ve gotten 1 interview and 2 hiring managers viewing my profile on indeed or LinkedIn. Surely, if there was such a labor crisis, people would be jumping to hire a qualified candidate asking for a dollar over min wage?

Why should I be medicated to work?!
Currently off from work after a burnout related breakdown. Speak with company health advisors, who, rather than offering any help, suggest I triple medication to 'get through the day'. Why? Why should I alter my chemical composition just to serve them? Safe to say, I won't be.

In addition on site food remains full price, crap quality, limited, open to the public or in my experiece promise food trucks that either didn't show or didn't bring enough to provide for even half the people working that day. I guess what I'm saying is perks aren't compensation. But I kinda feel like we've been conditioned to think it is. https://www.dailydot.com/news/restaurant-chain-inside-amazon-warehouse/

Ugh. I was offered and accepted a job as an accounting assistant. It’s a department of three, including my role. The Friday before I started, my immediate supervisor called to verify what time I should arrive and casually mentioned the accountant has quit and will only be there till the end of the month. The guy is training me and that only gives me two weeks of training. I thought my supervisor would train me after that, but something weird keeps happening. Whenever the accountant and I are training she sits behind me and says “I want to learn!!” She doesn’t know the job, tasks, or procedures. I also found out the last assistant quit because she was treated poorly and they basically burned her out. Plus, the supervisor said my job description is changing and we are going to go over it. My husband thinks she is going to…
Triangle of Sadness. Workers based movie
I’m only 22 and this M-F 11a-7p shit is killing me. Supervisor literally sits next to me all day questioning me after every phone call with client. No phones ever – they are locked up in a box. Recruiters demanding I come into interview only during afternoons when everyone who has a job is working I wanna jump but there’s no where to land
