TL;DR massive corporations are the cheapest penny-pinching MFers out there. They are run so inefficiently, and refuse to invest the small percentage it would take to massively improve things. I'll be looking for a new job despite my boss being desperate to keep me at this understaffed company, because HR refused to give me a 5k (about 5%) wage increase. Hope they enjoy running their understaffed projects and paying for 3 new hires + training instead. For context: this fortune 500 company, over the last year, made tens of billions of dollars in record profits. This company penny-pinches to extremes I haven't seen in my career (though to be fair I'm fairly new to the game). The ratio between the profit they make (that the workers directly generate!) And the wages and work environment is mind blowing. They refuse to invest anything into the infrastructure of our 50+ yo campus.…

I wish I was joking…
Um…I’ll take it!
I’m not saying woman shouldn’t work but goddamn we were dumb as a pile of rocks to accept that women enter the workforce without lessening the hours of man. They sold us financial liberty for woman and we went from 1 income families living comfortably to 2 income families barely surviving. When women entered the workforce it should’ve been to split the hours between the two adults of the household, not to work full time as well. On paper it raises the family income, but if every family has a bigger income it’s like no one has a better income because things will automatically become more expensive to adjust to the new incomes. We live on two incomes barely getting by but now neither the fathers nor mothers have any time to spend with children. That’s some capitalist shenanigan.
Bare Minimum Mondays Gotta Go
This is an opinion that I believe to be true. Catchphrases like “bare minimum mondays” will end up hurting us in the long run. It’s easy ammo for those pulling the strings to try and justify walking back the progress workers have made. I’m a big fan of this sub and mentality. We need to take back our lives from a system that has robbed us of our time and wellbeing. Do not give them ammo! Just point the issues out and figure out how to change them. If we’re going on strike, then let’s do it! No more “I’m/we’re not gonna meet your standards” rhetoric. Just you(employer) are not meeting our(workers) standards! With the right stance on these issues, they don’t have shit on us. If you don’t want to put in 110% on Mondays (I never do), then just don’t and advocate for a less than 40 hour…
Maybe not in the context of physical states, but more in the context of social and elite classes. In the movies, all the rich people live off the backs of the poor where they live for scraps and the are harshly kept on line. Sadly this is the same thing that has happened through history, until a revolution or some other major change occurs.
