I saw a similar post with almost this same title here, but I’m feeling it too, so bear with me. I literally just quit my job. I’ve been dreading the place so much. I called out last Thursday and Friday, but over the weekend the dread became too much. It really sucks, though! I was getting paid enough to make my bills, it was a two minute walk from my new place, it was the perfect schedule, and I love the field. But it was SO toxic. Like toxic positivity. They would say something rude to you but spin it in way that sounded like it was just for information. And it was so damn disorganized when it came to how you were managed. How long is everyone's drive to work? Mine is 2 mins (literally) which is what makes it really hard for me to leave, but this place is a complete clown show lol. Been there 12 years and haven't moved, which is another reason I want out. The pay isn't terrible for what I do but they are a terrible company who micromanages way too much.

My workplace for reference is not a non-profit or charity org. Just a normal American for-profit business. There was an announcement made that employees who work remotely more than half the time are now required to do community service/ volunteer work once a quarter. Mind you I already do volunteer at my local library but I have lots of reservations at being required to do ANYTHING off-the-clock. This is supposed to be done unpaid on personal time. Haha… no. What can I say to scare hr enough to roll back this requirement or make it during work hours? Lots of my coworkers have to work two jobs already and I think it’s shitty to require them to do even more work in what little off time they have.

I just want to be part of one of these meetings for once. When they talk about 50% wage cuts, and firing 5K people, or Netflix deciding to cancel all good shows, and all these kinds of talks. Like, I need to see what the fuck they are talking there. Yes, we all know, they are greedy and want money, obviously. But, what the actual fuck do they talk in there? How do they get to the decision to fire a few thousand people, or plan to cut hours and payment in a huge amount, and then think this will work out?? I doubt the conversation is literally “Lets cut the payment by 50%, people wont mind”…or when Netflix cancels EVERY good and popular show, and then is surprised about loosing subscribers. I want to see what they actually talk during these decisions so fucking bad… We all always just…

My office is inside my town's convention center, and every now and then they have days where they test the fire alarms. The first time they gave us a heads up and my manager told us to work from home for the day. Well apparently HR got mad that we did that (even though we're literally authorized to work from home every so often) so now they don't tell us when there's testing so that we come into the office. They'd literally rather us listen to blaring alarms and lights flashing all day instead of working from the comfort of our homes. Surely productivity won't take a hit!
