As silly as the title sounds, at my recent job working as a chef I have been sacked because my girlfriend, who also worked there, left because of abusive management. After six months of working there, I was taken off the rota with no explanation. My manager would not respond to any of my messages, and after talking with my peers there, apparently the owner told the manager to take me off the rota and not tell me. This was a day after my girlfriend quit the job, mainly because the owner had humiliated her, pushed her around, and been verbally abusive. The owner has had this track record before, with many staff quitting because of her. What I find most infuriating is that I cannot get a reply from any of the managers of the reasoning for my sacking, nor will the owner respond to me. Although it was…
I work in a digital department mostly dealing with backend stuff and reporting. my job tittle is literally “digital analyst”. At lunch one day It came up in conversation that I know my way around photoshop decently well. A week later my boss volunteers me without my permission to help the design department with the long and boring ass task of creating clipping masks for a whole catalogue of images. Probably around 2 days worth of work as if im not already busy enough. When I confronted him about why he volunteered me his response was “I know you’re not very busy right now”. Which isn’t true and even if it was this shit isn’t in my job description.
Company just got rid of vacation cash out. I was going to use my saved up vacation time to put a nice dent into my Retail Therapy debt. Jokes on them though. I've been job hunting for the last 3 months since there are plenty of signs the company is going under, such as not paying vendors. I also manage our teams' vendor relationships and I'm just tired of getting emails and phone calls from our vendors when our accounts payable team doesn't even pick up the phone or reply to an email.
So my wife started at a new place 4 months ago and at her review a few days ago she was told she qualifies for a raise. The raise ended up being $0.07/hr because “she hasn't been with the company that long.” Am I the only one who thinks it's time for her to look elsewhere?

Title says it all. Got hired as a trainee in boatbuilding, was honest straight from the bat that i had no experience. After 4 months of busting my ass their excuse for letting me go is “We’re not here to train you, you have to teach yourself.” 🫥
