Our pay periods are twice monthly so we have a monthly salary. I work 4×10 so sometimes I have more hours and sometimes less. I just went on Medical leave and surprise! My check is $1k short. They're claiming this is because I didn't work on scheduled days off despite having 40 hours logged on both weeks in the pay period. I swear to god they are pushing me. Now they're “checking with my pm”, who already told them this was the case before they agree to fix it. I think they're trying to dick me.

I'm a non smoker & I now work with a lot of smokers/vapers. Guess who is always stuck not getting these extra breaks? ‍️ me. Im in training so When I need help, they're always outside. I wouldn't mind if it was equal but it's not. Maybe when it gets warmer, I'll go on a lonely outdoor break & watch them lose their fucking minds. I can't actually join them because I'm allergic to cigarette smoke. I'm just so sick of this double standard.

So last Friday, I took a vacation day that was approved a month ago. The mobile app we use for clocking in, out, etc said I had accrued 20hr of vacation time. The following week I was contacted by HR and they said I did not have any vacation time, and it would be used as a sick day. The app still says I have 20 hrs accrued…. What to do? For context I am a ~6 month intern at this company and been working for 2 months.

For context: my friend just got a full time job which he was happy about until they pulled the bait-and-switch and had him working 10-12 hour days with only 2 days off a week. He asked his boss if he was entitled to overtime and this man had the nerve to say he only gives it to people who he thinks 'aren't abusing it'. Okay… huh? Is this even legal? The state we live in says any hour over 40 qualifies for either time off or 1.5 in pay per hour and he's doing at least 50 a week.

For reference I'm applying for environmental education jobs and the like, I have seen this happen more than three times with different agencies and positions. If they havent found someone yet why do they ghost me?
