I had a casino call me for a job interview and when I went in HR told me that the position had already been filled. So I wasted my time and gas to come in for an interview for a position that they didn’t interview all of the candidates for. I had a nursing home contact me on indeed two hours after I submitted my application asking if I was still interested and wanted to discuss next steps, and I never heard back. I called today and they said that they filled the position. I know these are only two of the however many jobs I’ve applied to, but both places contacted me and filled the position before I even got a chance to interview for it and it’s just depressing.

Still expected to come in though
Im currently on the job hunt. This morning I found a listing on Indeed for a cleaner and submitted a resume to them which they asked for. I then spoke on the phone with the manager who is doing the hiring. She said she would need me to sign some documents and I replied to her “just email me, I'll fill them out immediately.” First document is an application and requires me to fill in all the Information that is laid out in high detail on my resume. Classic. Ask for my resume that I put a lot of time Into and then ask me to basically rewrite it for them on their app platform. I sent 15 resumes out to different companies this morning so I'm not in the mood to do this again. Well, turns out it's a janitor position at a hospital which, weirdly enough, wasn't mentioned…

We have a no phones rule at work but here I am listening to my supervisor on her personal phone making a phone call about her TV cable package. That isn't work related not even a little bit. They always talk about being written up if you don't follow the rules yet I've never seen one person written up for not following them. I type this siting at work while being on my phone lmao.
Best way to enjoy life is to work as little as possible. Basically work only a little bit to cover necessities. And spend the rest of your time chilling. If time is money free time is money well spent.
